My new favorite liveset of theirs. Previously it was Confield tour at Wexner center in Columbus, OH. I really wish someone had that show recorded. I saw them there, in Chicago, and then DEMF on that our and the Wexner set was something else entirely, completely deconstructed sound art madness.

Edit: So, does Ae have a open recording policy for shows? I'll go all out next time they come through if that is the case.

Ha ha, I think the next live set should be recorded with professional equipment and mic positioning by the community. The community should be let in before the set to calibrate things properly. Another recorder would be fed directly through the mixer. Ae, clearly, would not mind and community would be satisfied like never.

Yeah they would rather people recorded the shows with the room ambiance, because the acoustics of the room plays into the sound and experience. This has been stated by them a few times in interviews and in the AAA thing. They're happy for people to share room recordings, but not for soundboard recordings to be taken.

I have done a mixdown of the two recordings. You get the room ambience and clarity all in one, comes very close to the live experience.

Can probably clean it up a bit with some more dedicated per channel mixing and will replace it if I do.

Also Datastream is this not like the Confield show you saw?

Same tour, different show. I've heard this before and like I said, saw them at 3 different dates on the tour. The Wexner show was something else, after the first 10 minutes they just went into outer space abstract insanity.

I am pretty sure there will be huge phase issues in your mixdown.

There definitely is and its very noticeable at points, but personally i find it much more pleasurable to have some of the room. I reduced the levels of eclipsis' recording to have it mainly serve as color. Just providing an option.

Well, what if you tried to use Mid/Side technique for your mixdown. Room to the sides and the other mix in mono to the center. That would solve many phase issues and also keep the space and room you want.

damn, fantastic job on that... have you remastered any other live sets?

can't remember uploading any other here. if you have some particular live on your mind i'd be glad to try. maybe the LA2008? i think i have the original somewhere.

xox, LA2008 would be great; any audience recording of the Quaristice or Oversteps tours would be amazing really, but do what you can. Sadly don't see any of the 2010 era stuff in the downloads section! i have some on an old external hd i can dig up if needed.

so here's the LA2008 live, mastered by me, my fav of that year. share this thing ppl! enjoy! can someone pls upload it to the watmm storage?

https://www.sendspace.com/file/pbde3u

for 2010 lives please ask someone else. mastering + exporting + uploading this thing took me half of this day. can't any-mo-re...

you're too good, xox, thank you. time well spent i assure you, it rocks

hmm having two recordings of one show is interesting. the part at ~11:30 i was drooling on was intense and just whoaaa on the first recording, but almost nonexistent on the second "better" one.

there are some really, REALLY cool tracks/ parts. the bass-heavy thing that starts at 39:00 (2nd rec) ? soooo good. and am i the only one, who loves the ae-live snare-sounds?

jesus, why do ae live sets always continue to remind me of how fucking badass their live stuff is.

The long stretch on this one from about 30 to 38 is sinister as hell, loving it. I'm glad the masses can have their syro, it leaves ae for gentlemen of refined taste, heh

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

I really hope that track from 19:00 onwards, with the hologramatic monk chant, makes it onto a future release.

Shit is fucking epic

lol wtf, did they let Clark or Bibio take over at the end? Seannrobpls, stop now with the guitar experimentation lest your balls shrivel

(kidding, kind of, but I'm afraid of going down the garden path of acoustic noodling and safe elevator idms)

That new recording someone put up is excellent, nice one.

Listening now on my new Sennheiser CX300ii at work. Amazing.

Amazing that regular people can get hold of really decent recording gear now that is portable enough to record at this quality level. We live in awesome times, for sure.

Highlights of this, apart from fucking all of it, include (so far)

The throaty smoky synth sounds at about 5mins and the break down shortly after is currently turning mind inside out. Wonderous.
