Is Arca out? Also I must admit that Lone album is fun go-to, and his LPs always are.

Then you might as well not count most AFX releases ever. Old or not I'd always count anything released for the first time in its respective year of release.

If it's not a straight up reissue I'd say it's fair game. So like u-Ziq and Jega's releases would count, Mike and Rich would not. Otherwise as SPD points out you are talking about a really slippery slope in terms of what isn't eligible.

can't remember who normally does this, or if it even is done by a regular person. anyway, post your contenders for AOTY itt (LPs only, let's have a separate thread for EPs) and let's follow with a poll for the top picks.

my top pick currently:

trying my best with this but it's completely ridiculous
I like it! :nacmat: embrace the 80s synth-cheese. this track is well-lush, probably my fave of the album:

I wouldn't have seen myself getting into this sort of thing a year ago but I heard Dangerous Days which preceded this and it totally won me over.

more generally,my tastes are drifting away from the watmmassive more and more. I listened to metal more than anything else this year, which is reflected in my list. elseq largely satisfied my electronic desires, I found myself more drawn to other stuff.

~~warning to fellow wattmers: be careful if you have headphones on~~

Thanks for the warning!

This is quite good. I saw this guy mentioned by many regarding "outrun" / "synthwave" artists to check out as well as comparisons to S U R V I V E (the Stranger Things producers) but i put it off until I saw you name it #1 on your list.

That was a good album. I forgot.

This thread should be subtitled "and great albums you really liked and haven't had time to re-visit"

I liked this more than anything they've done since In Rainbows but still didn't crack my top 20 or top 25. It's a great album, "Daydreaming" is one of my favorite tracks of the year for example, but I suppose it just doesn't resonate with me a lot as much as their past albums. I have a feeling though it will in the future.
