If you want free, I'd go for Cave Story. It's better than most paid games you'll play. You could also try Ao Oni. Never played it, but I've heard it's good.

I would go as far as to say that Red Dead Redemption could be one of the best games ever made.

Didn't like RDD so much. Then again, I played it like a free-roam game instead of a story based game, so maybe it was awesome once you got further. I spent most of the time goofing off. Then again, when I did play the story it bored the living shit out of me, and I'm pretty patient with games.

You reckon? The last half of the game was a real let down for me. Still not completed it. From Mexico onwards it was kind of boring.

I agree. RDR is one of the best games I've played. It's definitely my favorite game in this console generation.

That game terrifies me. I'll be casually walking around minding my own business and then all of a sudden a BEAR pops out of nowhere with the loudest fucking roar. It gets worse though because that bear decided to bring his pals. I tend play with the volume low.

2 days till Journey - I brought my PS3 back from the YLOD just in time ....

I had YLOD also, i don't get it, they put that orange/yellow light there just to tell your ps3 broke?

Tryed to fix it with a heatblower but it did'nt work lol so i bought a slim ps3.

playing modern warfare 3,

some maps are reaaally small and i suck way more at it then in black ops but one hell of a multiplayer game!

I got bored when I was sick a few weeks back and started playing through HL2 and the Episodes again. Forgot how much better the characterization was in the Episodes.

 

I'm still waiting for my girlfriend to finish Portal so we can get a Portal 2 thing going (finally); but it's taking her forever. She can figure out the puzzles but she has the hand-eye coordination of a 2 year old.

Currently doing this too with the latest cinematicmod ( http://cinematicmod.com/ ) - The first time you're on a boat and get chased by helicopter and fired at by tanks is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay tougher now (first real difference I've noticed gameplay wise)

From the screenshots it looks like the primary intent of cinematicmod was to increase the T&A content gratuitously -- and make Judith Mossman a young asian woman?

 

Alyx has a pretty interesting face in the original game but now she looks like some generically multiracial and flawlessly bland render you'd see on a 13 year old's desktop background.

edit: Some of the textural improvements look quite nice, just a little overboard for my taste

You get a choice of over 10 different models for Alyx depending on how hormonally imbalanced you are, from just a higher texture quality original version to 'teen angst' friendly ones - You can sort of make them out here:

But yeah all the models are replaceable by just clicking on which one you want, so if you just want prettier visuals and not up the smut content then it's completely up to your preferences using the supplied menu thing.

YES....but the bears never pissed me off...it was all the GODDAMN COUGARS

 

that Master Hunter challenge in order to get the Buffalo Rifle was so.....frustrating.

 

Im replaying this with a harder aim, and I think I like the game even more than I did the first time.

yeah you get 3 points for the hard word, 2 for medium, 1 for easy.

 

but what i think YOU should do is start a game with a random person, draw something absolutely horrifying, then just write the word at the bottom.

I started playing FF13-2, Amalur, and ME3 ... all they do is make me want to play Dark Souls :/

You're right, the Mexican part is maybe not as exciting, but something amazing happens near the end of the game. Also, the zombie DLC is surprisingly good. They hit the nail on the head with the whole B-movie vibe.
