I went to the movies with the lady. Due to our spontaneous decision to go, we didn't have much of a choice. Unless we wanted to wait 1.5 hours, it was this or Alice in Wonderland. This was 20 min earlier so I picked it. This was bad. I mean REALLY bad. Had i been at home I would have shut it off after 10 min. The second they showed Zeus I scared the PISS out of the lady because I started laughing so hard and out of the blue. I mean TEARS were coming out.

The Kraken was kind of cool.

I had no feelings for anyone in this film. Perseus was a brat. They showed Andromeda for all of 5 min the entire film, and we're supposed to be upset when they talk about sacrificing her? No. Sorry.

im still waitng for 'trash humpers' and 'enter the void'. ive been looking forward to both of these for a long time now...

i know noes a big kubrick guy and thats who hes trying to emulate, but i fear that when compared to kubrick, noe will always look like a big dumbass. im vastly curious to see his new film tho. hes been working on it for ages.

tried to watch back to he future in the park but a million dirty hipsters got there first so instead watched dexter season 4 episode 9 & 10. very good shit. how we didnt carry on and watch 11 & 12 i don't know.

Same, only points on this one was some of the visuals. Maybe I went in with too high expectations (well, it did get good reviews and the original was a favorite growing up).. but yeah, what a letdown. They took out 60-70% of the characters and the plot that was in the original film and somehow it's still almost two hours long. The feeble attempt at comic relief with the two guys who randomly show up about there times for approximately five seconds each time was just bizarre.. and the music was distractingly generic and cliched

The best comic relief was the cult leader who stood dressed in robes shouting at the top of his lungs about how they should all return to their gods.. he kept reminding me of this guy:

yeah man, those 2 guys SOMEHOW got to the battle at the same time as perseus, despite him being on a Pegasus, and them leaving from 2 days away on foot, but they're on a scorpion now. figure that one out. That cult leader chapped my ass too.

MOVIES SEEN RECENTLY

A Serious Man - pretty. a bit self indulgent perhaps. interesting. theme of uncertainty. good wallpaper. ironically I would have liked an ending BUT I SEE WHAT THEY DID THERE.

Ninja Assassin - Fantastic, should win everything. seriously tho it was highly enjoyable if you are high/nostalgic for ninjas/the target audience (9 year old boy).

Where the Wild Things Are - a bit of a downer. probably could have been better. I liked the monsters. nailed some of the rawer emo aspects of being a kid (going nuts with excitement -> furious and crying). what do you expect really, couldn't be much better considering. was even a bit creepy.

Edge of Darkness - 6/10

Great action and great shoot out scenes. Martin Campbell knows how to make a great action scene that's for sure. Actually, he should have made Casino Royal as violent as this one - that would have been sweeeet!

The story was a bit 'meh', though.

The Men Who Stare at Goats - "pretty good" I quite liked the goats, goats are ok by me. fun story too, US army, remote viewing, psy ops, walking through walls, LSD; all a bit 2nd gen IDM really. lol @ Ewan McGregor asking what a Jedi is, he should know he helped ruin th... 10/15

ps: watching a fun film (loosely) involving OP Desert Storm II seemed a bit weird though. ALTHOUGH the shootout b/w 2 US security contractors was fun satire. 9.5/15

Overall, it was quite good, although it dragged a bit, especially near the end. Comedy, horror, drama, it had everything.

I just saw the informant! i thought the pace was horrible and ruined a good story, the goofy music bothered me too, at times it felt like i was watching america's funniest home videos except i wasn't laughing. 7/10.
