A few films recently watched.

Watched "The Scouting Book for Boys" I'd give it a 3/10. Main points that let it down were:

• Story line lacked realism, which although sometimes can be good it didn't really work here
  
• it was so slow paced, it really started to irritate.
  
• lack of depth to characters
  

It was beautifully shot and I liked the idea, the story was, in my opinion, lost through too many ideas rolled into one.

king's speech - a hammy oscar baiter but a totally enjoyable one, colin firth deserves all the praise he gets.

Interview with a Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles - 7/10

Kirsten Dunst was the best actress in that movie...only time you can ever say that

I want to go see that, think its more one for a lazy sunday staying in watching movies rather then going to the cinema. I'm going to see a remake of Brighton rock this Saturday, should be interesting...

Yeah I am with you but having watched all of the seasons, 4 and 5 are just is so much more fulfilling than the rest of the series...

season 1 - really good start to one of my favourite series

season 2 - still really good but not as much so as the first season

season 3 - pretty lame, but still entertaining

season 4 - really well written and out trumps the first three seasons

season 5 - as good as season 4, almost better

Due Date - Ain't no "Planes, Trains" but I did snigger through most of this.

inhale - 5/10 started off promising but eventually went downhill by the end

american psycho - 7/10 i bet whoever wrote the book didn't quite like the movie, it's a difficult plot to put on film and if it wasn't for christian bale performance i wouldn't have rated it so high. oh and

Mother - 6/10

i saw the devil - 4/10 full of facepalmings

memories of murder - 8/10 really digded this one, the humor was fantastic

biutiful - 7/10 i saw most of it coming

127 hours - 3/10 apart from being based on the true events this movie really sucks, i mean, the camera jobs are pretty amateur/experimental/old i dunno, thumbs up for james franco performance though

127 Hours was 7/10 for me. The music and editing half the time were horrible but it was Franco's performance was really good.

fuck a bunch of 127 hours, Danny Boyle does it again....makes a shitty film!

just saw Black Swan. Was pretty meh. Portman was ok I guess but I'm still not a fan, she seems a bit Tom Cruise-y: lots of effort but not necessarily convincing. The part was tailor made for her, though, with her dance background.I normally like him but though Vincent Cassel was kind of bad, maybe it was him speaking in English (though I didn't mind him in Eastern Promises). He didn't seem quite fierce and intense enough. Is it bad that nothing in the movie really moved me? Based on what people here have said I was fully expecting the cg to bother me but I thought it was mostly ok, apart from the hilarious moment where Portmans legs bent backwards. That might have been practical fx though, I wasn't really paying attention. Sometimes the music seemed to be undercutting the scenes, and there were a few unintented lol moments. I liked the plot and the "twist" at the end though. Not sure what score to give it, 7.5/10?

i'm surprised how many of you are even watching black swan. it has 0 appeal for me. i won't be watching unless i'm forced into it.

Never saw the original. Thought it was good, Jack Nicholson was a good joker.

The towm - 5/10, dragged in places, it was all right i guess, wont be watching it again
