argh, i've been pretty relaxed this whole game, now its the 3rd and tied 2-2 and i'm getting stressed. Canes must prevail! They are leading in shots tho, and are not letting the goal that was just scored phase them, which is awesome.

who would have thought the canes would advance to the ECF. they better put a fight against the pens. i bet the fans in beantown are devastated, but imo the right team won when they managed to go up 3-1 in the series.

the blackhawks season has already succeeded any expectations that were set going into this season. the goal was to make the playoffs and now they are in the WCFs. of course the only goal now is to advance to the SCF, but a loss at this stage wouldn't be a shame at all. the match-up against the red wangs is sure to flair up the old rivalry between these original six teams.

personally i am quite pessimistic about it, i am afraid that in this series the wangs experience will triumph the hawks youthful excuberance, even if i consider the teams quite close together with the slight edge going to the wangs. hopefully this series will go the distance at least, but wouldn't be disappointed if the hawks sweep them in 4 :wink2:

as for the pens-canes ECF, i don't really have strong feelings going either way. crosby is on fire and malkin looks to be getting his groove on. the cardiac canes seem to be rolling, but i only see staal and cam ward being the big ones for them in the long run. will jokinen continue to be the decider and will other guys step up? the offensive edge goes to the pens while the defense looks to be even, if gonchar is ok the slight edge goes to the pens. the goalie battle goes to carolina with cam ward, who has yet to lose a playoff series. MAF just doesn't seem to be as clutch as ward.

playing the hurricanes dosnt bother me in the slightest.

getting pumped already for the game tomorrow night, PUMPED!!!!! YEAH WOOOOO YEAH!!! WOO!!!

the hawks showed up for the first 10 mins and then the red machine started grinding and out-played the hawks. if it weren't for khabibulin the score would have been much uglier. a part from khabby the only player showing up was adam burish and the fourth line, that was the only line that got any sort of offensive pressure in the detroit zone. detroit had a lot of turnovers which is pretty uncommon. the score doesn't really show what an entertaining fast paced game it was.

so far in the playoffs the hawks have been fast learners and hopefully they learn their lesson last night and they'll show up much improved for the next game.

20 minutes till puck drop, yeah!!! looking forward to the staal staal batttle.

this is a great matchup i think their strengths and weaknesses are about opposites and both are fierce teams. pens have the offensive advantage i think though.

I feel a lot better about this matchup than the boston one as i felt that carolina was way above them but if they lost te series to the pens it would be understandable. I think its gonna be interesting with the pens offense.

I gues considering the Canucks are out and Chris is from England I should start supporting the pens.

yeah strong game by pens all around, frusterating that they couldn't get a win by us!

well canes got killed in their first game against boston so I'm guessing their main focus is to asses the other team during game one. that said there's nothing wrong with wanting to win game one either.

Canes are a lot like tiger woods too, tey put themsevles into these insanely stupid positions and try to break out of em and that seems to be one of their driving forces. Which may be okay in golf but hockey I think it's a bt risky as has shown this season. Letting another team one up em hoping to come back and ten not scoring a goal in the 2nd or 3rd. Seen it too many times.

this strategy does not work late in the post season. nucks did it too. it's a bad way to go and will result in a loss, i don't see carolina coming out on top. but feeling it out or not, they are playing like shit tonight, this game is all pens.

if j.staals shot was anything to go buy i'd go swinging for him. it was a spastic shot.

this is why i think the red wings have a great chance. they play a solid, calculated style and they know what they're doing, they never look to lose. chicago is young and running on young blood that i think will burn out soon.

also, great fucking game.

Carolina is most def. not the most graceful team the hl has ever seen. BUt some of the games where they seem to be spaz and all obver the place they end up winning. They just aren't solid and organized (in apearence) but maybe that's one of their strengths as far as the mental game goes. Dunno. Canes usually look like scrambled eggs, but i love scrambled eggs :)

erik cole has the most blackest beard i have ever seen ona a grown man. its unleashed!! its like his lower face is buffed up with boot polish!

now that was a game worth watching.
