Lol, I'm not going to go, the support here is far beyond what I expected to get, which has really cheered me up and I have a girl who really loves me, and sticks by me no matter what, I really need to get my head sorted and stop being so selfish. It's just so hard when your in that place.

for what it's worth, i'm not an alcoholic, but i have been going through some of the same things you were describing in your first post - mostly fucking depthless melancholy. the only thing that has worked is asking for help. sometimes i just need a single voice telling me it's worth it for a day or two.

in the past i have turned to weed and it sort of worked, except i think that it just put off feeling the stuff i was supposed to feel. it's funny, but i feel at a disadvantage because i don't know if i'll ever hit bottom on alcohol or drugs - my body stops me before i really hurt myself.

i'm proud of you for making it this far. i think you are ready for the long haul. it takes time for the body to catch up with the will.

A/D at the moment I am abstinent from everything, because I know that this is truly the only way forward with regards to developing my feelings without needing to pick up everytime. I think eventually you will hit your rock bottom, after lots of long term abuse, you body will one day, just say fuck off, and if this hadn't hapenned to me, I'd probably be dead.

Well the weekend is over, I went to my girlfriends and all those feelings have passed, took a while but they went. And now I'm 66 days :) so all is good, thanks guys for the support and the replies. Another week ahead of me, and still going strong as the longest period sober.
