If I were to attempt I would need a machinedrum, a monomachine, a decent mic, a quadraverb unit, a 202, a bunch of FX pedals, a decent mixer god knows what else and about 10 years of practice. And even then it would be half arsed..

Thinking about it, there were no fakes for Quaristice that I remember.. definitely some for Untilted though. Made by a forum member too if memory serves..?

After listening to Quaristice, Untilted and Glasgow set alot lately, I have absolutely no preconceived expectations about how the next release will sound. Their recentish output is so varied (in a good way). Hope there are some ae style acidy bits.

a few things we do know about the new release:

• when the track list/album title gets out, people will say its silly, stupid and not like the old ae

• quaristice and the surrounding outtakes and eps will move up a notch and will be held in a much higher regard and appreciated for how good they really are

• untilted can now move to its rightful place and be mentioned with draft and cornfield as pure ae gold.

LOL, I slated the song titles as I recall, they sounded like AE titles by anyone except AE. I maintain that they adopted those titles and just released 20 random tracks laying about just to spite me for my comments.

I was having tea, scones and clotted cream the other day with Sean and he assures me that the new album will be, and I quote: "Radical, totally bodacious mate"

I hope this doesn't push the BOC Boc Boc forward tho...I need BOC in march or earlier.

I hope it is more beat driven this time around. Quaristice is nice but I need more beats.

It just occurred to me that there could conceivably be a release from AE, AFX, SP, and BoC this year, which hasn't happened in a long while.

Whoa whoa whoa... This is total not-going-to-happen-ever-in-a-million-years thinking here but what if they made an LP10... a reworking of LP5 or something in the same style.... live gigs of cutting up and redoing LP5 in realtime would be killer...

Am I the only one who has low expectations for Autechre's next album? Untilted and Quaristice were weak compared to their pre-2005 discography, let's face it.

I thought Untitled was pretty strong, personally. Quaristice not as much but I've never hated it.

I prefer to not get worked up and create expectations when new albums are coming. I get excited, sure, but I don't speculate about how they will sound.
