I sure hope so man. I could buy the vinyl right now, but $60 is steeeeep. Will be waiting for American retailers.

The price difference between vinyl and CD is ridiculous. I just pre-ordered Oversteps on CD for $18.63, which is totally reasonable. I really hope you vinylphiles will enjoy the album so it's worth $60.

I'm still hoping that this album and tour see Booth and Brown go "unplugged"... Sean on crazy-ass bongos and Rob on acoustic guitar and vocals.

the album title sucks. what happened to cool words like cornfield and chiastic. plus the artwork is crap. anyone could make a circular ink spot. and those track titles? jeez. god awful. i miss the old days of ae when things were really worthwhile like quaristice. fucking sell outs.

and i think the artwork is much better than quaristice. tbh, i look at the quaristice artwork and am not surprised at all that tdr closed their doors.

i quite like the cover of quaristice. i find you have to read the titles much in the same way you listen to their music.

i don't know, i've liked all the last few autechre covers, but if that one has that text there i'm not really that into it.

 

i think with autechre you almost have to do something quite minimal or run the risk of being too obvious to the music in a way. draft was maybe slightly like that but still classily done (i think all the green balances it out).

 

but i quite like how things like untilted or quaristice kind of mirror the music in a less obvious way. in terms of the colours and text and stuff. i mean, the text on quaristice is subtly brilliant to me cause it's analogous the big melting pot that the album is. i love the little graphic on untilted too, but also just all that metallic silver that kind of works with the sound of that album.

yeah, don't get me wrong, i love minimal artwork. but there's just something about seemingly random sized flat white/black/grey squares on a blue/grey background that just doesn't do it for me at all.

But I'm a poor teenager, I can't afford 60 dollar vinyl. I can afford a 22 dollar copy of Draft, but not a 60 dollar copy of Oversteps.
