I'm pleased the cousins are dead, pretty lame scene with him crawling on the floor and shit.

*sigh* I lol'd hard at that...it was so fucking stupid, it looked like something out of a cheesy dream sequence.

didnt like the massive plot fudge of jesse just happening to see hank arriving at the hospital

This was also inexcusably retarded. The population of Albuquerque is around 1,000,000.

That last episode made things a little better. From the opening sequence I knew it was going to be good.

Jesse was given some great writing...I loved the scene with the NA group where he explains making the wooden box.

I also loved the conflation of crystal methane and Pollos Hermanos' secret fast food ingredients. KFC = Fried Chicken + Meth Dust. That introduction with the fake (but hilariously awesome) commercial for the chicken joint was great, especially as it segued into the bags of blue meth.

When Skyler explains to her sister that Walt can help with Hank's medical bills because of his gambling genius, I think it was handled badly but it was a great idea. Something about the scene was just...underwritten and a bit underperformed. The reactions from Walt and Marie weren't very believable. Still, it was an A+ idea despite the C- execution.

I have to admit...the show is less stupid now, perhaps, but it feels....boring? Like, they should have quit while they were ahead. A drug war is not interesting to me. As analogue wings has pointed out, what made the first two seasons great was the relationship between Walt & Jesse, a relationship of perverse convenience that made for pure lols and endless screwball situations. It was especially poignant as they untangled all the ethics and morality of the situation. Now, I just think the show is headed into weird interpersonal politics.

Walt is a rich man though...jesus. $15 million a year eh?

Does anybody think the portrait of Gus's operation is a bit too squeaky clean? He clearly employs a shit ton of people and somehow they all keep their mouths shut? Hmmm.

Oh, by the way, Jesse's decision to skim off the top and sell meth on the side to his NA group was totally unmotivated and retarded IMO.

The last thing I'd imagine Jesse wanting to do is go out on the street corners slinging meth again. WTTTTTTTTTTTTTTF.

Yeah i pretty much agreed with everything there, especially the medical bills scene. The scene in general was a bit awkward to sit through... the editing was like cutting around a t-bone steak. Would have been nice to have the voice over accompanied by a fake visual play-through of Walt growing through the gambling ranks.

But yeah.. this series is pretty much useless now without the chemistry between Walk and Jesse. They seem like two parallel characters now.

Amen to all that. Jesse is, by far, the most disappointing character in season 3.

Dude, in season 2, he was absolutely stunning. Like, what did they do with the character who went to the house with the junkies and the stolen ATM machine? That Jesse was amazing. The one that squirts, "BITCH!" all the time is fucking zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Just watched the latest episode 'fly' - was a bit of a weird one, and quite a change of pace from the rest of season three so far. I really enjoyed it though, some good dialogue and it was nice to see some decent interaction between Walt and Jesse again.

people said this would be breaking bad's 'pine barrens' which is a tall order, but i could see why people said it about this last episode. i thought it was good and had that dark humor element which it has lacked slightly this season.

the biggest illusion is yourself

Walt was clearly thinking about dropping Jessee off the ladder.

The episode was below Average 'till the part Walt tells the story of the night Jane died.(That was emotional shit)

7/10

I think it was a weird episode up until the last 15 minutes, then it suddenly made alot of sense, and I liked it being just Walt and Jesse like old times.

yeah. Jesse even put off Walt's shoes.

Great episode. Making a fly the catalyst for everything that happens in this episode worked really really well.

It was quite an emotional episode as well. Especially when Walt talked about 'the perfect moment'.

"Fly" was a middling attempt at returning to form. When Hollywood writers try to do Beckett after reading Waiting for Godot a few times, this last episode of Breaking Bad would be the result. I liked the effort, but it was kinda...childish? All the aggressive and silly inserts in this show need to stop. E.g. - Walt writing on a glass surface so they can tuck a camera behind it. Why do thy think that shit is interesting? It's distracting. Every time they do shit like that, I think, "Oh, Walt is writing on a piece of glass. Wait, no he's not. He's writing on a clipboard but the director is a stupid cunt."

Anybody utterly sick of Jesse ending sentences with "bitch?" That needs to go away and quickly.

I agree with Squee about the "perfect moment" speech. It was reminiscent of season 1 writing and it worked very well. I wish the show had been anchored more by that speech instead of all the tedious fly-swatting.

so, the fly, was an alegory?? walt will not get rid of the fly till he admits to jesse that he let her girlfriend die??

Nah. Honestly, I think it was a lazy metaphorical hook and just about everybody found something to hang on it.

"It represents Walt's desire to help his family with drug money."

"Walt is trying to get over his guilt for doing so many bad things."

"The bug is meth and Walt is trying to kill it!"

Bla bla bla... :trashbear:

i was pretty edgy waiting for Walt to fuck up again and admit he let Jane die, Jesse would have bashed his fucking skull in.

Admittedly, so was I. That moment was a bit of a head fuck and the writers were clever for it. Jesse saying he would give anything to see Jane again; meanwhile, his life is literally teetering on the edge of a dodgy step ladder atop two rolling cabinets.
