Breaking Bad Season 3

For someone picking this apart in such detail I'm surprised you wouldn't be able to find all bizarre motivation's for Walt at this point. He has always wanted to have a huge expensive lab where he is respected as a highly calculating master chemist. But that's not enough to make him continue on cooking the death drug meth right? correct, it wouldn't be enough for the family man Walt a year or so ago but the events that have regretfully occurred have changed him significantly obviously and he doesn't have the ability to just got back to his old life even if he could back to his old mental state.

Even though Walt has seemingly become so heartless, cold, self centered etc. I have never once that its become an easy thing for him. He's still a dynamic character despite that has been shown of him lately and I think it will show more sides of him still in the future.

Early on, Blanket Fort promised me there would be a good explanation for them being mute (missing tongues or something) but nooooooooo, they really were just generic Mexican terminator druggies taken straight from plot lines of Grand Theft Auto.

I didn't really mean it would explain that they were mute(Edit:obviously they weren't lol), I meant that I thought it would kind of explain there characters a bit so they would seem like they generic Mexican terminator druggies as you say. Which I think it did in a very subtle way. That scene showing them in their backyard and seeing the way they were taught lessons kind of explains their upbringing and demeanor's a bit. The combination of that scene and thinking about how there lives must have been is enough to explain them to not be robot terminators.

anyway enough debating for today back to work

Walt was sick because of the radiation treatment during the first seasons, that may have given a different "vibe" to the show that is simply not present in season 3, but so far it's still Breaking Bad, maybe just less dark.

anyway this is my useless post to say I agree with The Overlook. I stood up to turn the last episode off, but I've chosen to pretend the previous seasons didn't really happen in order to see the show through. It's difficult to imagine how they could continue with a season 4.

It's like his "bitch" overuse, it's a trademark of the character I think. It still hasn't reached "24" bullshit levels to make me quit the show.

sério??? ok...

Because Hank killed the two brothers, this is going to start a cartel war I think. The show is building up with intensity with each season and its going to leave us in a very dark place I think. Maybe things are getting a little weird in terms of character motivations, but couldn't this just be considered character development? Think of what all of these characters have gone through will you! If you had experienced the amount of drama in the past year or so that these characters have I imagine most of us wouldn't even be alive.

Yeah, Jesse's "bitch" thing is tired...why on earth are they still doing that? That shit belongs in Avatar, not Breaking Bad, god dammit.

I loved Jesse in the 2nd season, so he has also been very disappointing in the 3rd. He mopes over lost pussy, calls everybody a bitch with the sort of gravitas I'd expect from a meth World of Warcraft addict, then delivers two of the gayest diatribes in the history of gay diatribes in episode 7.

Not happy!

He's pretty much defeated as a character... so his passive aggressive whiney attitude makes sense in my opinion. he's angry at everything, he knows he can't do anything to fix it, leaving him incredibly empty. though walt is making an effort to help guide jesse, you could see the tide roll back with walt in this episode as he "admits" that jesse's product was as good as his. whether he thought it was true or not is besides the point, he is making an effort to help jesse... whether he will actually save him is what we will find out

he's helping both, do you really think walt doesn't care for jesse anymore?

he let his lover die to save him from his addiction!

No, I definitely saw that play as an effort to help both. Walt is helping Hank because Jesse won't sue and Hank can go on being a beat cop or whatever (similar to McNulty in The Wire) and he's helping Jesse because he feels guilt over the dead (and hot by the way) bitch he watched overdose in 2nd season.

I have a bigger problem with Gus and Saul who are able to solve any issues Walt has, I miss when everything was all ghetto and shit. It could be the calm before the storm, they must have something for the season finale.

I'm honestly excited to see where this goes. I think the situation right now leaves so many possibilities open for the future that it kind of makes current episodes feel a little un-motivated... cause we aren't entirely clear on Walt's motivations. He's certainly been all over the place, but I guess unlike others I found his reactions/actions rightfully motivated in the context. Him trying to smash Ted's office window, right after having his wife say "I fucked Ted." Or having Saul fake the emergency call to Hank, cause clearly it would have been all over if Hank had stayed. Jesse is certainly lost too... something soon is going to have to make each character realize what they need to do. Hey, maybe Hank is dead

That is a very good point and perhaps that's where a comparison with Lost is an apt one.

Whereas the first two seasons were dictated by the "ghetto" volition of two idiots, Walt and Jesse, who stumbled through their respectively fucked up existences and somehow managed to thrive and even bond, now I just keep waiting for the Hand of God (Saul / Gus) to direct things.

In other words, Saul and Gus provide the perfect deus ex machina for lazy writers. Now, they're about to add the Mexican cartel, which will only add to that.

I'm not really that sure, that everything is going to be over if Hank finds out that Heisenberg is his brother-in-law.
