I made the mistake of accidentally skipping season 2 episode 13... never even thought to look for it since I had never seen a 13th episode in a season... they usually end at 12. I just felt unusually lost at the end of season 3 episode 1 and that was the issue. Any who.. about to start episode 3.

i think from this episode on will get really interesting. i was kind of wondering why the first few have been so meandering and kind of dull, but it seems to be just setting the mood for some great stuff ahead.

even without any super hot paced crazy shit going on this episode was highly involving and really well done. All the characters really feel apart of the show now. Jesse is really a dynamic character though I cant figure out if I like him, hate him, feel sorry for him or am glad he's getting fucked over again.

i think that you've touched on why i've come to like the show as much as i do. all of the main characters give me some pretty conflicting feelings towards them with the exception of hank. he seems like a really good guy with nothing against him, except for the fact that he's with the law and that will always give me some sort of discomfort or disagreement.

having bob odenkirk as the comic relief of sorts has been excellent though. hope this isn't the last i see of him

jesse can be annoying but walts the one being a dick here. completely shot jesse down when he reached out to him and now walts being a greedy arrogant fuck.

completely agree. what a great addition to the cast.

Jesse's fucked, Hank's on to him plus he knows that his RV is the one that got stolen, Walt has is own Lab now, things are going to get very interesting!

i like how gus isn't telling walt that he's the only reason why mute mexicans aren't chopping him up with an axe. also getting walt to cook 200lbs/week for 12 weeks will amount to over a ton of meth and i am pretty sure that will mean that gus will be set for the foreseeable future and the mexicans can have walt as far as he's concerned.

jesse is soon going to find himself in hot water with hank. and i am sure gus won't look at it kindly either as jesse could mess with his plans by fingering walt.

the biggest illusion is yourself

I really liked this episode's quiet and underacted scenes - and there were a lot of them!

Especially the scene where Walt walks around his new lab, inspecting all his new gear was very well executed and the music was just perfect. Btw. if anyone's interested in the melody played at the lab scene then here it is:

but if jesse goes down surely walt will too, no?

Yes but Walt has Gus, Saul and even Hank on his side, Jesse is all alone, I'm curious if Vince Gilligan will manage to live up to the expectations and build-up created in S3, I'm still on the fence, there's a lot going.

BTW, I love all the geometric camera shot on this show, wonderful.

shiiiit, i didn't even think about that possibility that's obviously what he's doing. He knows the axe murderers are going to go after him eventually, so hes probably just having him making as much meth as he needs for the foreseeable future so that he does not need Walt anymore.

really? every tv show usually has 13 or 22 episodes. except anime, which often goes to 26.

If the show is picked up, a "run" of episodes is ordered. Usually only 13 episodes are ordered at first, although a series will typically last for at least 22 episodes (the last nine episodes sometimes being known as the "back nine", borrowing a term from golf).

new episode is exactly the direction I hoped they would go

pretty much agree, i was REALLY starting hate Skylar, i'm glad she finally had kind of a breakthrough

i think it would be a really good dynamic if Hank figures out Walt is Heisenberg completely separate from his investigation and learns of it 2nd hand through his wife. I feel eventually Skylar is going to have to confide in someone besides her lawyer about Walt's meth making
