nope, you'll have to grow the grass with a dirt bridge. it's a pain, i've done it many times (see the roof of the bridge between my house and kokoon's castle)

I think we should just start a new map. We will have the resource bias fixed at the spawn. Our map is a frankenstein of different algorithms. Did notch fix the clay problem yet? Maybe we should wait for that, but otherwise a new map would be swell.

edit: nevermind, it looks fine, missed the part about it only being the lvl.dat

lol, some of these things have hapened to me. But I think he missed the worst one where you open a chest with a lava bucket in a wooden house.

Have you guys seen this Terraria game? Such a shameless rip off of minecraft but in 2d. And there's even magazines out there defending it against minecraft. I bought it and it has its charm but I got bored after like a day.

notch is cool with terraria, and so am i.

it's worth bearing in mind that notch didn't make a game with minecraft; he made a fucking genre.

LOL at digging the bottom of the map. I literally did that when I first played!

he dug obsidian, and it dropped into lava

so I was mapping out the outskirts of coolville 2:

and i noticed a red dot on the map, similar to larger red one near the top(pete's glass/lava tower)

as I got closer to inspect it, it turns out to be a surface lava pool!

and then about 15 paces past that I found another one!

Yeah man, there are a few surface pools in the ice near my hotel. Pretty sweet!

it's not a shameless rip-off of minecraft. the focus is completely different. terraria is largely about crafting awesome weapons and armour, getting really tough and fighting big boss battles. it's not really about constructing fancy buildings or settlements. it shares a lot of game mechanics, but it uses them to a different end.

frankly i prefer terraria - i've logged an absolutely shameful number of hours since i bought it at the weekend. not been this hooked on a PC game in a long time.

From what I've seen, Terraria is for the people who felt Minecraft lacked a point. 2 of my friends played minecraft for a while, and gave it up, claiming they had nothing to do. Terraria came out and they played it like crazy. I love minecraft and can always find something to do in multiplayer, but I can't stand Terraria. The shitty little art style bugs me.

I really think the Adventure Mode being released in 1.7 will appeal to everyone. There'll be a focus for people into that sort of thing, and we'll still have our sand box game.

whoa cool. I've just never seen one before so it freaked me out. First I saw the red dot and I was like "what the fuck could that be?" and then I was all like "holy shit!" and then i posted here. and then I checked the minecraft wiki lava page and found out they are called "lava lakes" and they are normal but rare. still one of the those holy shit moments for me, like finding a crazy cave system or a huge cliff.

Is it possible to update the server? The sleep bug is back and glowstone is only giving 1 glow dust per block. I think its back on 1.6.5

that'd be pretty great. even though the lag is too much for me to seriously think about connecting to the watmm server. i played a planetoids map for a few hours before dying in a spectacular fashion and losing all of my stuff. pretty good though.

how does sand planet get formed?

except the game started off as a clone of infiniminer, some would say infiniminer was the start of the genre.

look for the folder .minecraft
