has the hardcore server switched back to its original name (hcsmp.com)? That's the only one that's showing up for me

Some of you have been wondering why there was a whitelist, well that requires a bit of explanation:

Earlier this afternoon, during the server lag, a tech support from the server hosting company logged on and tried to fix it. He reset the server a few times, until it stayed down. When gmx got home, it was discovered that there was a bug with the map generation that had caused the lag. With that, he had to restart the pregen (ie map reset).

Since the server (the one you'll be playing on from now on, hardcore.hcsmp.com) won't be ready until tomorrow, a few players asked if gmx could host a temp map (on the former server, hcsmp.com) with Run for wool or something like that. Organized teams were made, and the game started. People started joining, and a few screwed up the lane for a team, so gmx made it white list only.

tl;dr server will be up tomorrow (hopefully), ip = hardcore.hcsmp.com

I dont imagine it'll be up within the next 12hrs but I'll keep checking. I want to play too! :)

edit: server is on and off right now, I get the impression the admins are fiddling with things and restarting it

last time it was working it was working with no plugins meaning that deathban was off, and pvp protection was off. And there was a lot of lag and fistfighting in the spawn, ridiculously fun.

Hey Pete I lit up the farm and did some repairs. It looks like the drop's effective but some of the mobs are taking too much damage because of the first drop (there is a chance they fall on the shallow water and therefore hit the ground twice).

have you tried again? I was able to log on fine and I still haven't received notification about the donation. It seems spots are slowly opening up... that or there are just more donors. Confusing

No, the let's make everything cubical 3d from now on thingy. It's not that I disapprove, I'm just making an observation. "Genre" does have a lot of potential.

Well despite that it's not really like minecraft much. I read you can't build in it. So what's the point of having the block-like graphics then. heh

It doesn't bother me much because I mean, there's other genres that do the same thing. Like the whole Call of Duty, Battlefield, Crysis, etc, super realistic fps genre. They all try to do the same thing with graphics. To me those games are indistinguishable because the gameplay is identical as well.
