i wonder what it is about this game that (imo) makes it more fun to watch others play it than to actually play it yourself.

and i keep watching whatever minecraft videos the yogscast put up. i logged on for the first time in weeks the other day and spawned out in the ocean for some reason, walked back to town, couldn't be bothered, logged out.

I can't watch minecraft videos because people place blocks or do things totally wrong.

They put all their items in the wrong bar slots compared to how I would too.

So annoying. :(

slot 1: torches

slot 2: shovel

slot 3: pick

slot 4: sword

slot 5: axe

slot 6: bow

slot 7,8: blocks

slot 9: food

the slots immediately above these in the larger inventory are all duplicates of the item (except torches) for the most part (shovel, axe, sword, pick, food)

there may be slight deviations for 5-10 based on whether I'm chopping a lot or if I'm bowing a lot of baddies.

slot 2 : shovel

slot 3 : axe / other tools

slot 4 : sword

slot 5 : other tools

slot 6/7/8 : waterbucket / food / blocks

if you're mining then you have torches next to the pick and weapons close by.

that's insane. do you eat when xp grinding? I realised its better to just starve because the server is on easy. You'll just go down to five hearts.

Wow really? I can't exactly remember but it's probably exactly like that.

its also worth mentioning that I have 'f' as my inventory key cos its much easier. Only berks use the 'i' key

I use the b key.

i think i've been playing too long to switch it now dang it!!

seriously though our inven orders are fairly similar. I have torches in #1 because in real-life I have remnants of ptsd and an exagerrated startle response so especially when I was first starting out I would place torches fucking everywhere so I wouldnt get startled in real-life by baddies in the game. Thats's interesting now that I think of it.

in fact now that I'm thinking of it more... i always carry like 2 stacks of torches at ALL TIMES.

they are fixing that stone id bug in 1.2.4
