you just build. In most servers (this one included) you must gather stuff and fabricate materials in order to build.

There's no real rules in the game. You just kinda do your own thing your own way. You don't even have to stick to those 3 I listed, those are the most common things people do in the game. It's a sandbox game with no real in-game objectives.

you didn't mention the fact the game now has an end, which changes a lot of things (at least for me who get bored of building quickly). So there's a boss to kill and before to reach it you have to explore in order to find special ingredients. The game has a quite basic combat system which is a really good addition imo.

It can lead to multiplayer games where you have to survive, killing other players, gather better material for crafting weapons and armors, crafting potions that enhances your skills, enchanting your items. And you make all that out of what you can find in the world, more or less easily.

For me this is the description of the game ^^ but indeed you can do what you want out of it.

think I'm going to jump onboard with this minecraft thing. Sounds fun!

Yea but killing the end dragon isn't a true end. For me at least, it's just another thing you can do in the game.

I just went on the server for the first time in a while, and there's a giant chasm in my underwater area. Anyone care to explain?

yeh, sorry about that. I was planning on making it larger and more interesting. maybe even making it a villager town. If you want I can fix it.

I'm not around for the most part, but I did put a lot of effort into that, so I would like it to stay mostly in tact. I'm fine with it as long as the hole is a little smaller, and less mob filled though. as it is it's kind of taking up the whole area and making it unsafe to go in there

I wasn't gonna just have a giant mob filled hole lol.Doesnt matter, ill just seal it up and wont bother with it,

How to get my Minecraft to look like that Mirrors Edge Skin?

If you look at the before after pics, it's clear he's using different materials to "fake" shadows. Which seems pretty friggin' insane. Maybe you could ask him for his texture pack? Keep in mind, the shadows won't move depending on time of day, and it probably only looks good from one angle...it's all smoke and mirrors...
