When I saw them it was bad, lots of mistakes and i didn't like the setlist that much. they played creep and kraftwerk was good tho.

ZOMG! Lazerz pew pew pew!!!!11!!1!!!!1!oneone!shift+one!~!!!

I saw them summer 2006 in Boston when they were first introducing new songs from In Rainbows. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed, even if you're just a casual fan. The version of Videotape they played on that tour was one of their best songs.

Full band Videotape >> the limp version that wound up on In Rainbows

Was really saddened when I heard the album version.

Videotape seemed to be THE song of the upcoming album, based on the tour versions. It was probably going to be their biggest hit in a while.

But the closer version on In Rainbows, whilst sending out the album on a fitting note, is just about the least inspiring song on the album. It was one of the biggest album version let downs in their career.

I never heard the Videotape live version before. I never really checked out all those live vids of potential new radiohead song back in '06.

When I first heard the song on the album, I loved it. And still do. So I was quite surprised to hear such public outrage.

But now I checked the video out above. And damn, people weren't kidding. I can totally understand the reaction.

surprisingly, gordo shits in the thread...

hey I'm not saying they're bad live, just that they can be. having a band of the stature of radiohead not being able to play in sync is not something you want to happen to you. Most people won't even notice tho.

and kraftwerk was really good.

yeah, there is such a thing as a bad radiohead show. i saw them when they played melbourne 2004. thom yorke had a throat infection, whispering half the songs, and the band in general weren't really performing too greatly. it felt like a show that should have been cancelled.. bad bad bad.

but they're returning this year, 8 years after the 2004 tour. looking forward to a radiohead performance a little more on par with what everyone else is familiar with :)

i saw them live at suffolk downs in mass for the kid a tour and was substantially blown away, but then i saw them live in mansfield i would say 2 years later and they were just ok... ALTHOUGH it totally could have been the venue.

of course they can have a bad show, I just didn't think xxx needed to read a bunch of negativity before he goes. I think his mind will be blown and he will get goosebumps at least once.

I've seen them play live 6 times now and I do think the shows have gotten progressively worse in some areas and better in others. There is no getting away from the fact that Thoms vocals are declining quite rapidly and in the two Florida shows I just attended it was more obvious than ever. However, the stage lighting and screen setup now is absolutely mind blowing. The youtube videos just dont do it justice at all. To witness it first hand is at times jaw dropping. Radiohead as a live spectacle is as always a wonderful experience but as an obsessive collector of over 600 full concert recordings now I can tell you with confidence that the band is generally on the decline.

the latest I have of really kick ass quality is 2008. I know nothing is circulating from 2012 yet.

are you familiar with the 2009 praha recording?

i'm recommending this to all radiohead fans not familiar with this bootleg. the video is edited from multiple fan recordings, and the sound mix is provided by the band (!!) (it sounds super clean and amazing).

it's available for download on their site in crazy high definition formats, or stream on youtube (in regular high definition format).

Miami, Tampa and Atlanta have surfaced but all are audience recordings. Atlanta is the best of the 3 but still not amazing. As far as I'm aware the only thing post 2008 of really high quality is an FM capture from Chile in march 2009 but that has horrible station ids slammed over the beginning of every track. There has been a few good audience captures though. There's a few real specialists out there who do an amazing job at capturing excellent recordings in very tricky circumstances.

i have checked this out before, but i couldn't find audio only

The national anthem is still the song that just blows me away live. They take songs you may have heard 1,000 times and it gives you goosebumbs like it's the first time you've heard it. Seen RH 6 times and they've always been superb.
