Remember you have a choice. Aphex Twin, Autechre and Boards of Canada are popular not because of their exact sounds, but because their sounds are unlike anyone else's, even each other's. So to constantly rip them off is missing the point of what made them so good in the first place, yes, but it's not like we need to be resigned to doing that. Anyone can find her or his own path, you just have to want to do it. So make your own style of music, you have the power.

Weird, I didn't notice this thread before. I submitted these two:

I submitted both these tracks, and they got accepted. The first is an old track I made. The second is the track I made for the tesla comp.

I'm pretty sure neither will win, but might as well give it a shot.

I wonder what the average production quality is on these 4000 tracks. I've only listened to a few at random, some really nice, some just okay/generic, but nothing that sounded like it came out of the bowels of Newgrounds.

I dunno man, the prog track I submitted is some next level shit, but I doubt it'll get selected, it's probably not wonky/oldskool enough. Or too oldskool. I forget how it works.

Not that I've seen. Soundcloud was down for 48hrs so it delayed their choice by 3 days? Perhaps today...

eduit: add to that they told everyone to sign up for the newsletter for information and I've already received 2 emails of advertisements so far ....

I trust that the list of 50 will be posted here...

I'm surprised that there are people who post here who haven't signed up for the Bleep newsletter! Then again, it pretty much gets re-posted in the relevant subforums anyway..

Before anyone gets excited again, the latest Bleep newsletter also doesn't contain any news on Filtered, although it's nice to see them selling some Daphne Oram.

It's not unheard of for people to set over-ambitious deadlines. They probably would have needed this time even if SC hadn't gone down.

I'm just saying this because I hope they listen to my tracks.

I do get the impression that the response was far more than they had initially anticipated.
