Bleep: Filtered - An unsigned competition

Like I said before, a lot of that stuff is very derivative and uninspired. Doesn't really seem to push forward except for a select few tracks. I would imagine they're picking the tracks that would sell the most copies. Oh well, that's how the world works.

I think we all had hopes that Warp would take steps towards returning to the golden era we all love and pick genuinely interesting acts that have something slightly different to offer the plate.

What happened instead was a disappointing sign that Warp records have completely lost their original vision that made their oeuvre in the 90s so fresh and exciting.

There seems to be some digital noise in the quieter sections, can anyone else hear it? I wonder if it'll be present on the actual release.

Some nice sounding tracks on there though.

meh, the first track was the only one i personally liked; there's some interesting stuff going on elsewhere though, it sounds like.

...so other than this, what labels are actively looking for new artists?

I was going to say something about that too. I live for the IDM of the year contest.

And I'd also love a watmm comp of tracks that didn't make the cut for unsigned.

Considering the number of really great entries to this, some of these sound really amateur. I guess this is the bit where I realise my tastes are becoming obsolete?

i liked the track at 1:20 or so a lot..reminded me of older warp acts. very nice. glad that one got on.

Sounds like fun ! I just downloaded today the christmas compilation, agreed it´s a bit late, but what can you do. Great work anyway, Lots of fun listening to it. Can´t wait til next christmas to play it more !

The mix is really a punch in the face. Maybe they mixed the wrong parts of each track but the music is not very representive for Warp. I wasn't expecting a proper IDM compilation (there are so many other amazing styles out there so no need to focus on IDM alone) but this is… rather uninspired as mentioned before.

I'm not sure they listened to all tracks. They got a big amount and it seems they grabbed maybe their favourites after 200 listenings.
