Also, I really like your track Candlestick maker. Especially your blatant use of basic oscillator waveforms. You got a really original sound for that track.

yay !! Didn't listen to any of the tracks though, cause i'm a bit like wot hautlle said. ;-]

But now there's watmmrs i might have to check at least them.

Ooh lovely, I made it to the top 50 too! Congrats to everyone who did, and commiserations to those who didn't

lawrence king? nice track. bit boardsy but not too much.

also enjoyed the maus and candlestickmaker tracks.

well dones!

yeah a bit in the synths i suppose, tried not to go too far down that track. cheers though!

after listening to the submissions they chose, my conclusion is that Warp is extremely in love with very heavy side chain compression. (im old)

edit: very nice submission maus

We should put together a compilation of the tracks that we submitted that didn't get in called "WATMM UNfiltered."

I'm down.

Meh, listened to 3 tracks and they all sounded like Fly Lo / Rustie clones.

*edit*

Running commentary as I listen through the list.

People Get Ready - TrustinDust (the first song on the list I found that made me want to partially move to the music, rather than sway undecidedly then die of boredom)

YLEM - Submerge (which is a bit Fly Lo, but different enough to be interesting and stand out on its own accord)

Medicine - Jaw vs. Paws (a bit autechre meets neil landstrumm. not sure if like or dissapoint).

You know... I think you're right by DyneQ - I really like this, because it doesnt sound like all the others.

DFI - After Death. Nice beats and sound design overall. I could listen to a whole album of this sort of stuff, but somehow I dont think thats what the filtered album will end up being like.

Junct - Saturday without - probably the most "dub" influenced track ive found so far. Nice reverbed hits and skippy beats, but sounds quite distinct amongst all the others. Very nice produced sounds, everythings very crisp. Edit - love this actually.

Snapshot - Koller. Burial in da house.

Bashy - Thadeus Wolfe - starts off nice, and I kinda think it could go in a "Wisp" direction and blast off into some interstella d&b, but unfortunately a rustie-esque filtered looping vocal comes in and it all goes silly.

Impulse 101 by corticyte - Very nice. Great techno influenced sounds whilst keeping the modern off-kilter beats going. Would work well in a club. Thumbs up from me.

Marbles by candlestickmaker - love the way this track builds. Very nicely produced, didnt think I would like the vocals but they do seem to fit quite well.

thats enough for now

PS

They all sound great, much better than anything I could come up with. Big ups to everyone who got picked, didnt want to sound like im dissin' yer choons... just my opinion as I skip through of course.

Just got a message on Soundcloud from Bleep saying I didn't make it to the top 10-12, so I expect we'll see the final tracklist pretty soon!

Why do most of the tracks sound like Prefuse73 doing house music?

It's what the kids like nowadays. The idiots.

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

We Aren't The Playlist Makers

Lol. But as I said before I was shocked about the low quality of the majority of the stuff as well. Very very uninspired and quite frankly sad for Warp.
