Tom's FMWT still blows most "musicians" our of the water. Whether you like his music more than others is a matter of taste, but he is far more technically inclined. Just read about it... Was there really a need for this thread?

He is also an innovator... An artist who is not afraid of alienating his fanbase, for the sake of experimentation. Shobaleader was SOOoo outta left field. It isn't my favorite style, but music appreciation tells me that there is some value in it.

THAT is a more legit question... I STILL don't understand why that guy is so popular. He's got a style range, but he's not particularly proficient in any of em' (IMO)...

He's got crossover appeal. Non-electronic music fans hear one of his crazy beatz tracks & go "well it's okay but has he done any real music", then you pull out one of his funky bass guitar tracks & they go "ah snap son"

What everyone else said, it's because he's made some of the best music released by warp.

yeah I wasn't sure if it was a parody thread or not, since it would seem that the appeal of Squarepusher is immediately obvious whereas Flying Lotus - not so much.
