stupid first world achievements and successes

personal best w/fixing an ingrown toe nail. only took a few minutes. my technique must be improving.

Small success, even if slightly premature: I have 4 hours of interviews this Thursday for a process engineering position at my company.

It would be a huge promotion, like $25k/year (with uncertainty of course).

I had to get a quadruple nail avulsion for mine, to remove the toe bed/roots or whatever

Fws - halfway through my second week on the new job and loving it so far. What a drastic change, can’t believe how toxic my last employer was in retrospect.

I made a batch of shrimp curry in the Instant Pot which turned out better than expected. My big accomplishment for the day (yay)

Ooo! Any chance you have a link to a recipe or was it an original recipe? Shrimp was inexplicably cheap recently and we bought 4lb . I think it was like $6 (usd). Probably marked down by accident tbh.

All I did differently was use shrimp instead of chicken basically. Still turned out good.

Thank you! We use our instant pot all the time, saving this to make soon. I eat chicken daily so for a recipe like this I’d be likely to sub shrimp anyways lol.

Getting many birthday presents from internet randoms would count as one such first world success.

The main one I came here to post about though would be this item I received:

Now the receiving of said item is not the FW achievement. More that since I posted the above photo in my IG story on Monday. It appears to've gone viral and is popping up in all kinds of strange places.

I'm getting a lot of DMs linking me to meme accounts and FB groups saying "isn't this yours?"

Was giving the old porcelain throne a right old brushing when my right hand decided to try out a power move that made the toilet brush frantically spin around its axis, fanning out a mix of toilet duck and fecal water. Not a single drop in my mouth or even on my face. Good day, today. 

The googly eyes that I put on my trashbin a couple of days ago are already starting to pay off:

My cabin is slowly turning into a yurt as I acquire more oriental wool rugs and clear out my furniture.  New goal:  no more bed or sofa, sleep and sit on floor pillows on top of wool rugs.

Where I live cans are separated from the trash by a large magnet. Only paper, plastic and glass are collected separately. 

Had a pretty good day in the studio Doing my own stuff.

It feels wrong to claim it. I was born here and haven’t been involved in making, implementing or executing this policy. It’s nice though. 

got this book at the bookstore marked down to 10 dollars. i'm a big ghostbuster fan and it's really great, it covers the first two movies, the cartoons and comic books.

I got the job, I start my new position at the beginning of 2021.

i just spent hours trying to install a vst, which seemed like a titanic effort since my ignorance about anything remotely technical is abysmal. i'm quite dumb if you like. for real. 

i now have the digital instrument i've been dreaming of for months so right now i'm feeling pretty good
