well, just imagine how frustrated you'd be if they restricted it to the 6 vinyls, and nobody ever found the 6th one....

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

So if they're rebroadcasting the numbers there must be a reason, seeing as we thought they did 699742 again because NPR screwed up/it couldn't be heard across from Rough Trade.

nope you're wrong. best promotional campaign includes an official announcement of when you will be able to give your money to them in exchange for said product,

at the moment there is no product, no announcement. only hype.

great promotional campaign

Lots of people seem to be enjoying this though.

but for the moment i'm still frustrated and bummed-out

Yeah, I don't see the need for number repeats. I've set a deadline for tomorrow, so hopefully something happens then.

Edit: When I say deadline, I mean I'll stop checking here and twoism et al. :emotawesomepm9:

I'm sure lots of Christians would also enjoy sermons from the pope.

Yes, but from the way people are reacting over on Twoism, 4chan, Reddit and here to a degree the campaign is working. People are extremely hyped about the whole thing and eager to hear more.

I'm sure they are no more hyped than they would be had Warp / Boards of Canada just made an official announcement.

Of course, we'll never know now...

the only thing that's annoying me are the fakes and the fanatics looking way too far into it. I'm a big fan of BoC myself, but imo the driving out to the petrol station and Warp symbols in movie trailers is ridiculous. thus far we've been spoon fed the numbers. who even knows if it'll decode into anything in the end?

Yup. I don't get the analysing, the twoism banner 'thing' was pretty cool, but I'm pretty sure that if no one figured it out then 'someone' conveniently would have. What scares me are the people who think there are clues at a derelict gas station. :cerious:

Oh definitely, maybe even more. I'm just saying.

I want an album announcement tonight as badly as you probably do.

perhaps they're attempting to reach out, not only to the couple hundred or thousand or so rabid boards of canada fans who frequent fan discussion sites and thus will be following each number as it is discovered, but also to the occasional boards of canada listener who hasn't thought about boards of canada in the last couple years. or maybe theyre even trying to build a mystique and gain some new fans who havent heard boards of canada before?

if they just let their whole numbers station marketing thing complete in 1 weeks time, imagine how many fans will have outright missed it completely. yeah maybe it would be a nice gesture to the hardcore fans (lol) to do something for just them and then have a traditional marketing campaign be used afterwards for everyone else. but its not about us. i would assume this is going to be part of the theme of the album so why would they rush through it so everyone forgets about this whole numbers station thing that went on for 1 week to build up hype for the album? that said, i don't think they would want to take more than a couple weeks because all that would do is piss people off. but yeah, its not just about us. id expect more repeats will come before its all done and finished.

Totally agree with emboldened statement. this is pure marketing, nothing more.

pure marketing has a product. this is only promoting an image that they themselves have said is not true.

didnt' some clues come out of that deserted gas station? I'm mean warp was projecting that same gas station out on that record store. Surely they intended from people to to track down the actual gas station being shown and then travel there and search for clues.

It's morning here in Australia. I keep waking up hoping for some news. Today I learnt that the cool video we saw is possibly a fake (confirmed?) and not much else. Maybe Monday morning UK time? Maybe May 1st? Who knows!

i agree with alzado that the adult swim bump looks cheaply made, and i, for BoC's sake, hope they disown at least that aspect of the campaign, and the rough trade art installation/projection too pls...

i blame WARP, and it's hipster worker bees

Edited by impotentwhitecapitalist

yea I didn't want to say it, but I think that adult swim commercial is slightly hacky. the film frame is kind of cheesy and looks like a boc copycat rather than something really cool that I've come to expect from them.

Is 'cheaply made' not apropos for a group that derives its aesthetic from archaic, second-hand technology? It's certainly no cheaper looking than the Invocation video from 2006.
