I have read that Reddit post 5 times, I still have no idea what "exclusives" are

Yeah lot of words there - basically just similar sections of various live sets mixed together to make 20-minute tracks.

They've been doing it for all the sets since 2016, I have found them kinda useful as a companion for the main sets sometimes.  If you don't have the time or energy for tackling a whole set you can listen to 20 minutes of 'ical7' or whatever.

Yo what's up with the facepalms? I really don't care because It was not my idea and I did not do this but the one doing it took a fair amount of time doing it and people seemed down except here on watmm.

Care to eloborate little bit? Is it cheesy names or is it sounding bad? Bad tracks?

i think its extremely cool that some fans care about this material so much to the point where they make custom versions out of the segments by stitching parts out of the same segment from different sets and title them to what they think is fitting and release it out into the public...... that might just be me though

is it just me or is set C the most Quaristice they sounded in years???? so many moments remind me of that LOS_ANGELES replication & the main album

Yeah, it comes off something like the Quaristice era live material through an AE LIVE (2014-2015) lens to me. Perhaps a bit less manic tempo-wise.

me too, especially with these where every part seems indeed to be morfing into the next, 14 and 16 were quite distinct in comparison.

i think it just adds another mode of consumption without taking away from the original, so i don't see any harm done.

it helps me digest the material a bit. i dont wanna split every show (although that would be the best way to enjoy them) and have like 50 live albums cause that makes discography in the music library kinda ugly and hard to navigate lol (ocd things i guess)
but having this companion piece for reference and ease of access is great and releasing it to public just profits whoever is interested instead of telling them to do cue splits themselves or something else.

Totally agree. I think it sounds like someone put alot of effort in making it.

My favorite part of all the sets is the track 17. aurosle
now I don't need to skip to some part I can just open up the track and it is not some little 4 mins track, It is 20 mins of mind blowing AE action right there!

It is a perfect balance of a Live Set + Album feeling for me!

For me they're not mutually exclusive ways to listen to the sets.  I have my own hour and something long mixes I've done for each set that I can listen to back to back for a single coverage of all the material with no duplicates, I have the gigs as sold for when I want those, and now I have extended versions I can listen to as well.  Admittedly I probably won't listen very often to these long versions, but it's an interesting way to engage with it either way.

Considering the history Steve and Raab have with remixing, DJing, dubbing, sampling, etc, I can't imagine they'd have any complaints.

sean said something to this effect in that terribly organized youtube comment thread on the hanalgig video. that's how they got their start so they don't really mind

a vista appears, bathed in cool green light, swarms of analog electric beings.  hive mind of metal with a distributed brain.  they swarm until a vortex opens, filling its void, leaving reverberations as it pops shut.  it reappears, pushed from behind, perturbing the tuned strings tying together the entire space.  plucking and scraping them as they scramble.  the maker drums a classic tune on the hull

Just a lil facepalm my friend, don't read too much into it. Mostly it was for the "track titles". Granted these are a bit less cringe than some fan titles I've seen, and they seem to attempt to follow a perceived logic, at least.

Personally I find it a bit cringe that these sets literally JUST came out and people are so eager to chop them up, rearrange and whatnot. How bout giving them a little time? Just listening to them as they are? But then I don't have the time (or brain power) to binge these and be intimately familiar with them within less than 2 weeks. Like this person apparently does/is. Maybe they were already listening to the bootlegs?

Anyway just carry on, we all have our own ways of enjoying this fantastic new shit

Yes I totally get you

But you remember how we just craved so much after these new live sets. In the meantime the interview with them and the statement from Sean saying they re done with albums etc..

I like the sets for what they are ofc but I also think what's making them so much better now is how customizable the sets really are.
I can easily take out the favorite bits and making it a new mix.

With exclusives, different mixes etc we can enjoy Ae in many levels

My Ae library is overloaded with their live material :music:

Yeah I'm certainly not interested in divvying up the live sets into somebody's interpretation of single tracks and giving them fan names and all that... but no shade on anybody who wants to do that, but I'd rather just listen to them in their intended context. It would show a lack of self awareness as an Ae fan to accuse somebody else of being a bit too nerdy.

The names are quite well done tho, even if they are mostly repurposed/rejigged from recent albums.. better than the usual keyboard mashing.

Yea - no offense to anyone but when I see fan titles, it’s very

Cringe Wince GIF

Personally, my ocd is dying to rename the files by date going year/month/day but the higher ocd won’t allow it as it’s named what it’s named.

Did Lyon today. Jfc.

I haven't seen anyone mention this yet, but there seems to be some fairly concrete reiteration of IO coming through at around 57 minutes in the Lyon set and around 59 minutes in the Lisbon one – like brief snippets through a garbled transmission.
