i am now referring to these new sets as MORF music. it's a good desciption for the sound.

...to think that I was there, in Venice... but I was not careful with my nostrils... a little excess, an underestimation of my condition as a middle-aged man, and off I went: I lost at least 40 minutes. Actually, it was the opposite effect: at every sonic edge, in that miserable condition, I felt like I was being punished by a brigade of hyperparametric supremacists (the volume was actually unbearable). Listening again today, I discover that, on the contrary, Venice was the bath in amniotic fluid (that part after 25 minutes: :catghost: )

I’m in complete awe of these. I listened to little bits and pieces leading up to these thinking these were going to be amazing but these really moved autechre into another realm. 
 

I can’t even listen to other stuff right now cuz I keep thinking about this bit here and that bit there and that amazing hypnotic pulse during that section. Then it just gets even crazier.

Today's the first day since release I haven't spent at least 4 hours a day listening to this stuff, and my blood itches a bit.

At least it hasn't completely killed my own creativity for once.

There were a handful of moments with this material where I just started laughing while listening to it for the first time because it blew my mind so much. I really missed that, turns out. Kind of feels like listening to music from a non-producer perspective, usually I tend to automatically focus on sequencing/patches/mixing and instruments and almost see the process behind most music (especially electronic), with this it's more of an abstract with so much going on in weird ways.. mad chops, I really hope they don't drop the hip hop inspired beat/dance structure for the next part of AE_Live.. deco_loc off Exai is one of my favorite tunes of all time and all this just feels like an evolution of that.. so ..fuck yeah ae.. :wub:

In Dublin set it is even a track that sounds so familiar with the Cichlisuite. The hiphop kinda beats is so neat indeed. Much stuff feels like an update version of Draft 7.30 that according to me has lots of hiphop rythm. 

It feels like I already playing the sets too much but this is serious their dopest live shit! It is way better than the first batch we got. 
I really hope they could release the rest of the 24-sets to Christmas. That would be a treat!

"According to me" made me lol :biggrin: I haven't checked out Dublin yet I think but that's great to hear, Cichlisuite is one of my favorites. I spent most of my youth on dancefloors in peoples basements or deep in the woods so this set hits a lot closer to home than the last batch did.. It's more congruent so to speak, more styled in, all while the heartbeat kick thumps away. Wonder what they would say about this. Feels like their setup has reached a broader state in terms of fluid movements while still keeping the heavy beat elements going but maybe that's just their newest banks of live show ideas.. Granted I haven't revisited the old ones since but it feels more complicated just from memory alone.

Was there mention of more 2024 sets? Sign me up :cisfor:

uuuuuuuuuuuuuugh as i predicted, set A has been all but completely overshadowed.

 

i mean im sure these new sets are wonderful (about to finish my relisten of the first batch tonight) but i find set A so special its such a shame that no one barely talks about it then and now :catcry: (dont ask me to talk about it bc i can barely talk about "normal" [whatever that is] music lol)

I’ve taken to listening to these when I go to bed. Lights out, eyes closed, headphones on. The sensory deprivation helps pay attention to all that mad sonic detail. Just mind bending stuff.
