Reading these comments I realise I should stop snoozing and get myself into gear and start listening to these.

Autechre gear list 2024:

couple Kenton controllers, couple of Macbooks, an expensive ass recorder.

Ohh, it's an ass recorder! I wondered why their music sounded like sequenced farts.

In the Rennes set in the piece starting around the 27.30 mark, there's a really weird and funny extended section where everything gets stripped down to a couple of sounds and then grinds to a complete halt for a few second.  I was just picturing Rab and Steve smacking the side of the laptop to get it to kick in again.

only one i listened to so far is Lisbon - loved it! - pad lovers delight that set, but with mercilessly raw and rugged beats too - there is like a 10 min stretch starting at around 29:45 that is so good! - it has some gated pads that are one of my favorite sonic trademark from these fellas, reminds me of how they use those on songs like latentcall and carefree counter dronal, some of my fav studio tracks - classic 'chre - also felt like the set kinda dips into classic electro / hip hop territory at times, though at much faster tempos and with way crazier sound design and composition - also little snippet from 38:25 to 40 mins in Lisbon set feels like a nice Aphex homage, sounds dope

For me, there's more techno, electro and hip hop in the C and D sets than there has been in Autechre in ages.

Yes! Especially the C set is hip hop heavy. Just listened to Dublin for the first time.

I might have been indulging in these too much because last night I dreamed Rob Brown came to visit me and gave some production tips.

The only thing I can remember from the discussion though is that I complained that I have hundreds of unfinished tracks on my hard drive and he just said "Fucking everybody has that" :cisfor:

electro mini-album Megacity Rainfall
"cacas in igne, heus"  - Emperor Nero, AD 64

Lyon recovers the logic of the 2005-2008 sets but under a lethal dose of anabolics. I can't keep track of the tracks and subtracks and how they turn into this fucking orgyimage.png.1346a8fcd20c75c5440861e5f352eb52.png

So we can all agree that Lyon is probably the most mesmerizing set out of all of them right? It's unbelievable. The other livesets are awesome, but this one actually feels like an album because of it's newness unheard in the other sets. Amazing.

Lyon fork (Lisbon is like beta) is most Autechrean euphoric shit since 2005-2010 run, yeah.

Hope they'll deploy Oversteps tour records or components sometime for such nerds like us (like they did with Quaristice tour components)

Funny I haven't listened to any Autechre for maybe a couple of years, sometimes I purposely rest certain artists that I love to avoid burn out (I didn't listen to Master Of Puppets, Ride The Lightning, Seasons In The Abyss, South Of Heaven and Reign In Blood for almost a decade for this reason) and then decided last week to begin the chronological trip through AE's back catalogue (including EPs) I'm currently up to LP5 and now I guess must take a little detour.
