so the scratching bit is not actually CDJ scratching like someone mentioned Rob was doing for that Gescom gig, right? are they ‘scratching’ with  a knob or a fader, or is this some virtual scratching done via modulators in Max or something?

Can someone please compress all of the Autechre live sets (not just these ones) into a millisecond blip, similar to Cake music?

I just can't chew on all these long files. They're too long.

Please can you ensure that the millisecond blip is 24-bit? I crave the highest sound quality. Thanks in advance.

Think it's the same 'thingamy' (probably a max patch/object they made) used a few years back in the AMKS set (ffwd to 2h 46min 46sec if the below link doesn't automagically do it)

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

Yeah a few people from the Emotion Wave discord either did go or will be going, as there is/was a tour date in Liverpool. I'm broke though, so couldn't/can't attend.

dreaming :

If I was a promoter / booker,  I would try to set up a rave into an empty ancient industrial factory  and would shedule AE_LIVE followed with DJ STINGRAY

nice, there's some bits in there that definitely sound like real scratching tho, so i wonder if that being 'Gescom' it's more....not AE, yknow, so maybe w/ actual decks/CDJs/whatever?

ah yeah, definitely there. this sounds less 'real' and more like the bits in the live sets....still cool shit, just coming at it from a different place.

oh i might've missed that then, i didn't catch most of the Twitch AMA/streams, but i think i'd watched most or all of the YT streams? curious if anyone nails down a place where it's chatted about.

File quality point: I always buy the highest quality 24 Bit versions, but being on a very slow download line I grabbed the mp3's for reference while waiting for the big files and was surprised at the bricking of them, not seen the WAV file yet but the Lyon mp3 file is not something I'd release to a client (I work in audio pre and post production etc.) - clipping at 2600, I just wouldn't release any file with that amount for sale, but I'm not a fan of bricking in any instance... not seen the 24Bit file yet but I can't imagine they recorded it this hot

the flacs don't clip anywhere as far as i can tell. i think it might be a byproduct of the mp3 encoding, i know if i convert something lossless to mp3 using ffmpeg it boosts it for whatever reason, which usually introduces clipping unless i'm encoding like a really old cd rip or classical music or something

waves are smashed too. they generally don't sound too hot to my ears but they are definitely full. i think there was one of them that i've listened to so far that had a moment that was maybe clipped but i didn't backtrack and check, could've just been some weird sound design moment that caught me off guard idk

fyi you can do View>Show Clipping in Audacity and red lines will show up if something is clipped. in case you dont already know

ae's generally been pretty loud since like elseq i think

also if you look at the entire hour+ zoomed out like that it looks a bit worse than it is imo
