there was some early voting numbers from some not-deep-red state showing 18-29 aged votes showing up for Trump at like ~45% or something…the youth in a purple/blue state being that swayed towards the right stuck with me. it’s not a good sign for the future of the country.

i wish i had some demonstrable skill that could help get me somewhere at least a bit ‘better’, but honestly im not even sure there’s many places like that anymore. lots of sliding to the center/right across the world.

The only vote you guys should have done is against wallstreet and that long time ago and with force. Each of the parties will implement their own wallstreet flavor. The new deal screwed you over big time by removing the possibility for actual moderate left wing teachings. So now it really doesn't matter. Trump will just accelerate the decline faster and less hidden. You have poisonous food to eat, no chance for a calm life, no healthcare worth mentioning or a state that takes care of things.

You should prepare for another iteration of black lives matter or some other riot flavor for what you people call left wing.

anyway, I've returned from outside with a Blazing Insight: regardless of what happens over the next 4 years, as we advance down what seems to be an inevitable decline between this and all the bigger problems going on, I think it's important to focus energy on looking after ourselves and the people and things we care about.

rn I feel disappointed but not despondent, in fact I feel strangely energised. we're almost certainly locked in for a hellish ride over the remainder of this century, one way or the other. may as well get ready for it as much as possible. I'm not an accelerationist, I don't believe in simply allowing things to go to the dogs and to let people suffer, but if democracy/the social contract/global order/whatever is set to break down, and we as ordinary people are powerless to change that, then fuck it. fine.
