never said it was bad, I rate that album pretty highly

the issue at hand here was a boc fan saying of autechre 'it all sounds the same'

the audacity etc, considering they accidentally gave birth to one of the blandest subgenres ie chill pads and shuffly lofi hiphop beats

it's for sure hard to argue that MHTRTC wasn't way more influential, but track for track i personally prefer the followup

Oh neat, showed up for the first time in a long time to check the new releases page and saw this unfortunate news. Well, it's been good run, though sad to see given how this is the last place on the web with really any interest in idm and it's related genres on the interwebs.

Honestly though, as far as discussion forum goes with that web 1.0 tight-knit community feel, the Something Awful forums are probably the last bastion of it's kind that I'm aware of (except maybe ArsTechnica if their forums are still running). The 'No Music Discussion' and the 'Rapidly Going Deaf' subforms would be a great fit for any refugees from this forum, especially the latter in terms of general chillness and banter etc, it's $10 bucks to register, but worth it imho (been there 20 years now lmao).  The site changed management a few years ago and the new owner is like crypto rich and so it doesn't sound like there's any plans for it to go anywhere anytime soon. Just a thought.
