IDM music is not a trend/fashion (and never was) that's over. It's part from human musical history (and future).
No matter if BOC will release new music. Teens will discover and listen to Aphex Twin, BOC and so on after 50-100-200 years. Good music last forever.
In this regard will be good if WATMM remain forever, even as some kind of IDM museum/archive at least.

I could put in the time to try and scrape the entire forums but I'm sure it would result in me getting rate limited and/or blocked by some means put in place to prevent such a thing. Websites generally frown on us doing these sort of things. I'm sure it's a pretty easy process for those in charge to dump the contents into a file, but the powers that be don't seem to want to do that for whatever reason...

Yeah please don’t. Work is being put in on scraping the forum and then it will be a matter of deciding what to keep and import into the new forum. 
No need to duplicate efforts.

It’s not mutually exclusive to appreciate their three decades worth of awesome music and at the same time entertain hope and expectation for their return based on numerous signals.

when i'm meditating in my back garden i like to channel my thoughts into silently wishing for a new BoC album cuz i know it drives them nuts

For BOC I guess it's just not lucrative anymore to release LPs and then not tour. So why put all the effort when it doesn't even pay your studio bills. I have the impression that these artists come from a very different time and with warp falling apart they have to find a new way to survive in the current environment. Autechre really did a great job by combining tour and release to one. Aphex did this as well. I don't see BOC wiling to do something like this.

If I see their last hipster indie rockband lp signing sells less on bandcamp than a recent Donato Dozzy record I start to wonder if the new direction is better than where they came from

I see it more as things have gotten to the point where BoC knows that if they release another album, there will be such a cringe reaction from so many fanboys on the internet, and they honestly just don't want to subject themselves to that.

I wouldn't be surprised if they've quietly released music on free channels under aliases since the last official release.

Bandcamp sales aren't the best judge when Warp also run Bleep and a band like that might well sell well through Amazon and so on, not to mention streaming.
