I lurked heavily for quaristice discussion and again for oversteps. So a couple solid years of lurking in those days, well enough to become familiar with all the standard memes and in-jokes

Since then I knew I could come here whenever Ae did something new, to get the most comprehensive (and entertaining) picture of what was going on.

Around the beginning of October 2020 I noticed the picture for Ae had changed overnight on my itunes/music app. Checked watmm to see what was up, and sure enough the SIGN discussion was beginning. That's when I decided to actually join. This place has always been my first stop for news about the bros.

Yeah we're all getting older and times have changed etc but this place is still a really valuable resource for fans, besides all the other valuable aspects of it that have been mentioned.

Don’t turn it off

i just ate half a bag of ruffles simply organic GF sea salted potato chips. went to the grocery store a bit hungry and was overcome by the craving. i didn't buy any chocolate muffins though so i'm like, half successful at coping w/this news. the crunch was so satisfying. 

i think i will miss watmm a lot. daily visits and what not.. but it'll be ok.. it'll be ok. we'll always have Krems. i hoe there's a lifeboat of some kind... dischord, 7-11 parking lot meet ups.. whatever. 

It's gonna be especially shitty if/when Autechre finally come back to North America in the fall and we don't have this site to organize meetups and whatnot

Aww this makes me so sad   found so much awesome music from people on here & been an awesome resource/ discussion space.

Like others have said feels even sadder as did feel like one of the last of the old school message boards before tech bros billionaires fucked the Internet... disappointing what the net has become & this site dying just feels like another piece of that.

Anyhow hope this carries on in some for(u)m...guess worse case a sub reddit would be better than nothing...

Oh no Mostly turned lurker but still turn here if I'm looking for music or when our braindance favorites release something new. Agreed that it would be a shame to see this go.

I have probably lurked here 90% of the time that the site has been around, since back in the Joyrex forum days way back when.  I can't count how many times over the years that I have lol'ed, discovered some new obscure sounds, found solace at some of the crazy things happening in the world by reading all of your posts.  Listening to music has kept me sane for much of my life, and while I haven't really been able to talk about it with friends/family - I've felt so connected here.  Lurking or not.  

Proud to have come out of the shadows during the Autechre AMA, and provide my share of music recs for all you heads out there.  

This place is special.

Sad news, though not unexpected. 

I've discovered, and purchased, lots of great music because of WATMM.

Lots of things deserve archiving here.

Just saw the news on reddit and had to sign in and post. This was my home in the mid 2000s to mid 2010s. I still sign on from time to time to parse through my post history and get a whiff of my former/younger self who I still try to nurture and hold true to, despite the constant gnaw of inching toward my mid-life. It feels strange to lose both WATMM and Lynch in the same month. I'm forever grateful to @Joyrex for fostering this community of electronic/artistic misfits.
