GTA IV

my mates didnt turn up today, but the pirate i played gave me the same impression, the same game polished up with a multiplayer.

the point is its the same game, i fucking love all gtas, the amount of entire weekends i spent in my garage smoking skunk solidly playing vice city is unreal.

exactly, i was starting to think i was going crazy for a moment. Actually, the number of reviewers going ape over the game surprised me, I guess people are getting paid off, or their standards have just sunken? (I felt the same way after the Bioshock reviews came in, wondering if people had even played System Shock 2).

i think everyone these days seems to prefer shiny graphics over actual amazing gameplay, bioshock as an example.

I've only ever owned GTA 1 and 2, so I'm going to cum buckets regardless of whether this game is astounding or just merely amazing.

I don't like being a curmudgeon. I'm no mosca or theo. But....c'mon....

"I liked GTA 1 through San Andreas" = "I will like this game" = good enough for me.

And regardless of anyone's complaints, I think we could all agree that this is one of those rare games where you're really getting your $60 worth in terms of gameplay and replay-ability.

I've only been loyal to the Final Fantasy and GTA series for that reason: I always get alot of game for my money.

True, but I was thinking about picking it up anyways and then sell the version that is on the way :)

EDIT: Plus, I just remembered that this thursday is may 1st which means that a lot of workers in the public sector may just be taking the day off.

What's the least hassle to set up an internet connection on, a PS3 or a 360 ? I hardly ever play consoles for some reason but i think im about to start up again.

I got both systems. I had varying levels of difficulty with both. The PS3 being free does speed up the process, and if you have problems connecting it gives more debug information and options. The Xbox process alone to set it up took about an hour, and then the debug screen didn't really help me at all.

Now once I had both of them set up, I think I had less problems with the xbox over all, except for this time when I got a new controller and it somehow took over my gamer profile and player 1 spot and took a very bizarre "hold down controller and press something on console to reboot" to get it back to normal. Its also kinda annoying that it forces people to sign into accounts to play 2 player and co-op games, I had to set up a second "guest" profile and requires each person to log into to play the game, very annoying.

On the flipside I notice the PS3 has a tendency to not like my linksys router and disconnects after the first minute or so of being online, but after reconnect it seems to go back to normal. The controllers are a breeze and resetting up player 1 and player 2, adding new controllers, jumping into games co op (like warhawk you can join a server, and all you have to do is press start on another controller for someone to jump right into the server split screen) is much easier.

The xbox has better options for sending people messages and emails and whatnot in game, the ps3 has similar capabilities but no ingame messaging yet.

Btw. there's been talk about GTAIV, not only ruining the gaming industry for other game developers, but that it might ruin Iron Man's chance to make a decent amount of money the first weekend, because nerds all over the world will lock themselves up in their rooms.

Any canadian who would invite me at his house to play GTA IV? :undecided:
