I've never played any GTA game in the series, but from all the hype, it seems like I'll have to give it a try.

played for 2 hours last night before having to turn in. wish i was playing it right now, as a matter of fact. good times. the amount of detail in this game is amazing. i literally just sat in front of the tv at roman's apt for about 10 - 15 mins while i was packing a bowl irl and it was fucking hilarious. was some E! channel-esque celeb gossip show. i lol'd more than a few times...more than i did during the latest family guy episode.

the driving physics take some getting used to. it took me a few tries to catch up to that dude in the first car chase...the turning is nice, but i need to rewire my programming from playing burnout so much...gotta remember that i can't just be doing crazy e-brake turns all over the place.

let me just give you all an example of how awesome this game is. after leaving roman's apt, i was standing right outside on the sidewalk. where my character spawned happened to be in pretty close proximity to a NPC, who was also just standing there. i was still taking hits from the previously mentioned bowl of cannibus, so i wasn't touching the controller for a bit. the NPC started heckling me, calling me names, telling me to get out of his face. then he started to push me. i was trying to be the bigger man and walk away, but he just wouldn't come off it. he followed me to the corner, where he proceeded to start punching me. the cops were waiting at the stop light, they saw it and came to arrest the dude. he wasn't too happy about it and kept throwing punches at me. one of those fists hit a cop and in typical cop fashion, they freaked out and started wailing on me, him and one other random pedestrian that happened to get caught up in it.

this little interaction may not seem like much, but all of this happened without having ever touched the controller except to attempt to walk away after the initial conflict. i didn't instigate it or trigger it, it just happened and that, my friends, is pretty damn awesome.

It took a couple of hours before I was convinced. Yes, this is an awesome game and the detail level is insane!

I played the pool minigame for 1½ hour or so... Fuck, it was great!

we did a 16 man scooter race today, many LOLs to be had. helicopter racing is awesome as well, especially using Apaches.

Okay, tonight I'm ready for some multiplayer. I was too busy playing pool and darts last night, but tonight I'm ready.

This will be the game that gets me to buy a PS3 or 360. Goodbye tax rebate check...

yeah, this is pretty damn good. Ive just played for about 5 hours solid. More tomorrow...

I played from 6 pm to 2 am... Good times.

hell yes. online mode is awesome, I was playing against two guys last night and it was like Heat over and over again:) My only complaint is it's far too easy to get smashed by someone in a vehicle...but this online play is the best thing ever, rolling around 4 strong in a car dropping molitovs.

i'm sure there's cheats and tips all over now but...

if you need a handgun, there's one in the lot full of dumpsters across from Michell's place.

there's a pigeon beneath the ferris wheel and molitovs in the covered sitting area near the bowling alley.

All this positive talk about the game is just persuading me day by day to pick up a PS3 and the game.

Would anyone so far rate this as the best game they have ever played?

in terms of online play hell yes, although my experience is limited. no contest. this is the best sandbox game I've yet played.

DAMN IT I NEED TO BUY A COPY SOON.

Either they're here and there in the game or else I've just been lucky, because I've seen a couple of pigeons so far...

But is there a leaderboard thing that shows who has them, and how many?

i found one, but i couldn't do anything with it... what are they for?

I should be getting mine in the next 2 days. Is there a WATMM clan? Can you even make and join clans?

I just got done playing a 16 hour marathon. It really is as awesome as people are saying.

I'm finding I actually enjoy the cab rides and the phone system. Its also nice that it now completes the NP complete problem for you by drawing lines how to get to destinations.

Seriously lol's happened listening to the radio, throwing dropped coffee at people, and flying out the front of the window going 200 mph.

heard a global communications tune on the radio which was pleasantly suprising

shoot that fucker. they're the equivalent of hidden packages. When you ace one it says "xxx flying rats left in the city". I've only shot two.

naw the initial character models are pretty limited, you have to unlock new outfits.

here's a cruel joke: when someone demolishes/detonates your ride during a multiplayer race, it spawns you near a Faggio close to the finish line:)
