If Tom really loves Japan as much as have people have said on WATMM, then hopefully he won't be taking the piss with Syntax 2. Although if it resembles anything else on JAS as we know it I won't regret preordering the Japanese CD.

I've actually never heard this, for better or worse (I've been led to believe better).

I'm totally into this album. this is squarepusher riding a rainbow in deep space through colorful nebulas pumping out space-beats.

nah it's a 1:24 of pisstaking. obviously a joke when you hear it and then it just fades out all shit. bad. be pretty funny if the bonus on Souvenir was the rest of the song, or if someone looped it into a real song.

I'm not very much into guitar music (or rather very much not) so if tom's able to make me listen to guitars, it means there must be some quality in there.

derek bailey to django reinhardt to jimi hendrix to kevin shields, all demolished in a single sentence :fee:

i never said there is no good guitar music. I'm now listening to 'third' by portishead, i totally dig it, incl guitars etc.

tom has actually become an excellent guitarist with a very individual style. sounds like it's all nylon-string stuff, which sorta makes sense cos he plays it a bit like a six-string bass.

yeah, it's totally cool maybe i just don't pick it up too easily because of my thick-headedness towards guitars/vocals.

Usually Squarepusher has one or two wicked tracks on an album and the rest is throwaway. This is just dog shit through and through.

It is growing on me now but I can't stand "A Real Woman" and I think "The Coathanger" is a silly track too. Whats with the dodgy robotic voices, I've never enjoyed them.

"Tensor in Green" is a monster of a track though

tensor in green makes me wanna smash my head against the nearest wall. but in a good way.

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

If it's in the same vein as Yo and Tesko and the 8 Bit Mix tracks then I can easily believe that it's so missable (although as an anal completist I'd still like it).

this is so bad.

delete/destroy it

ok so i listened to it.

it's very much a continuation of hello everything. in fact it would have been a great idea to sell both together, double album a la druguse. the first track is a hell of a better opener than hellow meow is. better song but also better track to lead up to all the jazzy stuff to come.

i like this experimentation in chord structure or to better explain, this jazz, or jazz fusion or whatever that these last two albums are but i really hope one day soon, he will go back to the experimentation that made him famous, experimentation is sonics, structure, dsp

nothing too special here but i bet if you played some of these tracks to a jazz lover you would fracture his skull with aural orgasms

no, this shit is like watered down smooth jazz. he doesn't even use good jazz chords, either. i think if you played this to someone who actually likes jazz, they'd tell you to shut the fuck up and go back to therapy.

i think that is extremely doubtful.

he doesn't have to use the jazz band chords but he sure as hell could make a better album.
