hahahaha 'a real woman' omg!! ramones chord progressions, YMO synths, jaco pastorius bass!

he never did anything like this before :D

true, but that doesn't make it good unfortunately.

I take blitzkrieg bop over this anyday

ZOMG! Lazerz pew pew pew!!!!11!!1!!!!1!oneone!shift+one!~!!!

nah i like it. i like the album as a whole, i think it is intended to be taken as such.

it coasts a little in places, but i like all the long tracks, on first listen. it has a reek of zappa or even kazume watanabe or ryuichi in places. it's refreshing.

I am just now toking up and listening to this album for the first time and its pretty fucking awesome in my opinion.

The drums may not kick ass... but the bass surely wipes the fucking floor.

I enjoy the fragility of the rolling lol tbh. The broken lol is like our own mortality staring us in the face, reminding us to enjoy that sunset.

i'm just going to look at is as the super-maxi Star Time 2 single w/ like 13 b-sides!

I think The Coathanger is definitely a better track for some reason. Weird I seem to be in such a minority.

love that track, maybe my favourite

a lot of people have a subconscious uneasy thing cos it's pusher with very few breaks, i think

just listened to the entire Music for the rotted one note again for comparison on his 'live' production /recording techniques and i have to say either he was trying to go for a St. Anger (jesus am i really saying this?) 'garage' production sound on the live tracks here AND/or he has lost his skills as a mixing engineer.

The drums, bass, and guitars in Music for the rotted one note sound proper, have meat, blend together fantastically and rival the production of many other live/recorded instrument albums.

on Just a souvenir the drums sound hollow, flat, tinny, as does the distorted guitar and bass. Its as if he turned down everything 200hz and below. I can't even hear a bass on the bass drum on most of the tracks here. it just sounds like pure treble.

Oddly Music for the rotted one note while trying to sound like a bitches brew live jam sort of thing ends up sounding significantly more polished and refined compared to this new one.

i have a feeling he's gonna release another album very soon.

(Bob Wilson) Sorry... you created that reality tunnel, you can find your way out... You built the Trap... you know the design better than anyone...sagatsfz3stage.jpg

I don't mind golden, I just don't prefer it when compared to white.

If you take a slide and a sun, you get the geometry of two different dimensions. Reaching a span of infinite possibilities. Proving the theory of evolution as not only the scientific explanation but as the meaning and answer to everything including that one all powerful question. What happens?

To come to grasps with the pipe jammed into your neck, which sucks the fat from your already anorexic body. Its existence only a pear one dimensional light wave. Something that can be put out in mear moments.

Your complete existence is that insignificant... you fucking cocky bitch.

yeah not feeling star-time at all, coathanger is the stand out track on this lp for me

Also this album is very emotional. Its all about his trips to Japan and what its like there for him. What he hears, what he brings back... his very own souvenirs.

Was one of his souvenirs to abandon good production/recording techniques for drums and guitar?

Its from another culture/country... of course its going to sound and stylistically be very different. Thats the fucking point.

and you know this because...

Anyone who follows the present activities (concerts, interviews, etc) of Tom Jenkinson would know he has a deep admiration and interest in Japan. You could saying "Hello Everything" was the start to the japanese influence.... but this album really captures his interuptation of their culture. It gets inside his mind... just as Druqks got inside Richards.

man, you're fucking crazy if you think you can assume something like "oh this is his japanese influenced album. he wrote it about japan, OBVIOUSLY."
