yesterday i was listening to most of his albums and there's definitely some things that appear again here and there... ever since feed me weird things. go plastic is an anomaly.

go plastic and drukqs were the definitive drill rilly. everything after were snares-like aberrations or retreading the same old ground. if tom was still doing it, it would be tiresome.

i like teh squarepusher but sometimes i feel his dick has shortened and his ability to play bass with it has dwindled.

i just realised (yes, while listening to the album) that squarepusher has turned into a fusion artist and fusion has not gotten any less horrible for this.

if this album said "john mclaughlan and his fusion tossers" on the cover instead of squarepusher, i would have hated it from minute one. (not that i would have gone near it in the first place).

because it said squarepusher on the cover i was in denial about it.

denial over - record sucks. 2 good tracks and a bunch of aimless noodly muso toss.

squarepusher fandom also (pretty much) over.

no its more to do with the washy pads in the background of it grating badly and irritating me after 45 seconds, at which point its volume intensified.

dude im a big fan of gabba and deep house, not everything i listen to needs to be complicated, its just this sort of stuff i find annoying and deeply unsatisfying.
