Battlefield Bad Company 2 (yeah, finally got it for my son's birthday).

typical father who gets the games for his kids (possibly after some heavy persuasion techniques) but ends up playing them.

Left 4 Dead (1).

already had l4d2 but got this one because i really love the dark atmosphere and new DLC is comin.

No, he plays it - I just watch him.

the modern equivalent of watching your kids play some kind of football. you'll always be into it, cause you've got skin in the game.

do you and your son use the same ID?

So I finally beat Red Dead Redemption. I must say I was very impressed by the single player. I'm a little disappointed by the multiplayer though. They cut the Exp earned from gang hideouts by 66%. That's right, you now only get one third of the Exp. So it'll take me a lot longer to get to lvl 50. I'm kicking myself for not playing the multiplayer earlier, before they patched it.

I think I might finally tackle Uncharted 2: Among Thieves now. If I do, I'll be playing it on Hard difficulty. Either than Among Thieves, I'll be trying for the Platinum on Heavy Rain, which was an awesome game.

Games I've beaten in the last 2 months:

  • Final Fantasy 7
  • Final Fantasy 8
  • Final Fantasy 9
  • Chrono Trigger
  • Chrono Cross
  • Vagrant Story
  • Link To The Past
  • Link's Awakening
  • Final Fantasy X
  • Final Fantasy X-2
  • Dragon Quest I
  • Dragon Quest II
  • Final Fantasy I
  • Final Fantasy II

On a JRPG tip basically.

Yeah, we have two PS3s, and rather than him starting from scratch with a new PSN ID, we just set his up and take turns (I usually play the offline stuff anyways, so it works out quite well).

Yep, if you hadn't figured it out yet, you got your ass handed to you in CoD by a then fifteen year old. He's the FPS expert. He's moved onto Battlefield 2 since he got sick of noob tubers and shotgun fags in CoD.

The only game I really play online against people is SSFIV. I've been trying to get him to learn the game, as I know with his superior hand-eye coordination, he'd beast at it, far better than I do.

Been playing Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Graphics are amazing. Gameplay is great. Story is pretty good. Very enjoyable so far. Some spots are pretty tough, I've been playing it on hard, but it's quite do-able. Damn, does it ever look great on my 47" 1080p screen.

nintendo needs to start doing this with more of their franchises.

changing the gameplay up and putting it in another developers hands to make something new and special, that isnt the same rehashed bs they keep putting out over and over again.. without even updating graphics/engine/gameplay or story..

the wii is just an all around failure in my opinion but i think stuff like other M is the direction nintendo needs to go

Oh damn! Really? It makes sense though. I used to think that it was strange that you never really talked that much about playing MW2 here but you secretly played it all the time and were better than you said. Whatever, I don't play that game anymore, now its just battlefield, not really because of noob tubers or anything, i just cant use the controls as good as I used to be able to move in MW2, i already replaced the muscle memory for BC2, which is fine for me.

Just 100% Harry Potter and now playing a wee bit of Just Cause 2 and Bad Company 2 before settling back into a Borderlands marathon in expectation of the new DLC next month.

That's four DLC's for Borderlands now, most shitty companies only release one (that comes with the fucking game in the first place - I'm looking at you resident evil 5).

yep, once the Move comes out (with actual HD content to use it with), it will be obsolete.

I explained to him that fucking nerds other people who game on a PC use a keyboard and use WASD keys to move around, and the mouse to point where to shoot.

He looked at me with a puzzled expression and wondered how somebody could navigate with letter keys - he thought at least the separated arrow keys made a bit more sense.

yes, he may mock in a quizikle tone now, but he'd get pretty quickly how wonderful it is being able to instantly (and accurately) aim at your target.
