Thanks for that, will definitely give it a whirl then. Tim Robbins + dystopian scifi + ambient OST ...really, I should've been sold on that premise alone!

But be warned, if I remember correctly it also has Coldplay.

"They're about guns, lasers, robots with laser guns in space. Monsters from the future. Explosions. Sylvester Stallone doing a backflip on top of a spike while Robocop carries a ghost up a mountain. Bombs and swords and that... IDM is awesome."

Watching some Tarantino... Jackie Brown and then Pulp Fiction (Reservoir Dogs next). Samuel L Jackson plays such a superb pissed of black man.. I don't think he'll ever be able to top that role

Only gripe I have with Tarantino films is the pretentiousness.. not that it's undue, but seeing him on screen in the context of the film just gives me that impression

yeaaah, i hate how the characters he plays are always these hard-talking "bad ass" dudes. he doesn't pull it off well

Whatever the hell is said about Killer Elite - i'm sure that it was kind except for the fact that you could tell shit was filmed in australia and clothes were modern. Diatribe about laziness. fun/10 (got disconnected by cap for a few hours ! ! !! )

well he writes and directs all his films,I highly doubt he could just pull that dialogue out of nowhere. dude definitely has some personality, whether it fits him or not

I was just saying that in certain moments, his films seem a bit self-conscious

but maybe that's by design. there are obvious metafilm aspects in a few of his films, such as the acting involved with the undercover cop in Reservoir Dogs, or the theater in Inglorious Basterds

Am I the only one excited for the new Bond film? I know there's been so many shitty ones. But Casino Royale was amazing. And this new trailer shows some potential. The story could be more interesting than the average bond movie.

And It's Sam Mendes, he has made some "okay" movies, right? (haven't seen any of his movies)

Why am I even posting this. You probably all hate James Bond movies.

Some aspects of the trailer makes the movie look a little silly. Like the whole train fight scene.

But.. I don't know.. Guess I just want another Casino Royale.

i know it will be shit. don't even have to watch the trailer to know that. Craig was one of the worst bonds i have ever seen, mainly due to the fact that he doesn't act like bond should. and he drove a fucking FORD. yeah right. thats saying something cause there where some bad ones. and i hated Casino Royale. they tried to remake a comedy and try to turn it back into a serious movie, fuck that shit. they should have just left it alone.

That all being said, im still going to go see it. im a huge Bond Fan and will not miss any bond movie. even if i hate it.

It's a shame, cause alot of what made Bond films great (campness, sillyness, bad fighting etc) are just not in the cards anymore. They'd have to tone down the effects and stuff for there to be a decent new Bond film. Otherwise it's just another redundant run off the mill action flick with way too many special effects, over elaborate stunts and fast editing.

I have seen Casino Royale but remember nothing about it. very meh. Craig doesn't really fit the bond bill for me either. Too surly and stocky, looks like a bouncer.

They should get Louis Theroux trained up for the role, or perhaps his brother or cousin who was in Mulholland Drive. And then have classy porn stars for the female roles. hehe.

SOME KIND OF MONSTER by metallica 10/10

this was so embarassing i had to hide my head in my shirt now and then

If you like team america and southpark you should definatly check this out!!

battleship - i was driving down a particularly awful strip of highway in northern virginia and my car started to overheat. it was disgusting out and from the road i could see what appeared to be a marquee for a movie theater. i pulled into the empty parking lot and decided to watch whatever was showing at that time (around noon). battleship was the only thing playing so i bought a six dollar matinee ticket and a six dollar small coke and sat down in what might have been the shittiest multiplex i've ever been in. there was no usher to take my ticket and i realized i could have just walked into the theater, but one does not simply do this. before the film began i was treated to rave cinema's "crave" reel where frozen up photos of people eating hamburgers (not available in that particular theater) enticed me to leave and purchase more food. i didn't. then i was taken on a ride in some kind of rollercoaster from an eighties computer graphics demo reel and shot out into space where i saw "the future of cinema". this was the rave experience. my seat began to creak as i adjusted my boxer briefs which had stuffed themselves into my asscrack. sweat was dripping down my back and onto the floor, mixing with dead skin particles and crushed m&ms. a trailer began that consisted of subsonic bass tones and vague images where the most important emotional beats were the production company logos. why was i doing this? what did i stand to gain from watching taylor kitsch's premature ejaculation of a career stain the soft, perfumed linens of another summer? i couldn't do this anymore. it was time to make a change. i felt the skin on my back stretch and rip off as i tore myself from the seat, made my way out of the theater and back to my car. i would rather sit in mid day sweltering midatlantic heat and humidity in a car that doesn't run than watch another "fun" "explosive" "blockbuster" "entertainment" that i can complain about later for the approval of people on the internet. i rolled the windows up in my car and let the heat overtake me. eventually, my body gave in and i succumbed to dehydration and heatstroke. my corpse was found two days later by a landscaping crew. i am writing this post from a wifi connection in hell.

I liked it ok. 6.5/10

I liked Eva Green.

Watched Pi two days ago for the second time. 8/10, I'd say, again really liked it.

The ending may be a bit simple, but somewhat pleasing, so who cares.

Mark Margolis can play whatever he wants, always great to watch.

Very interesting director's commentary as well. The way I understood it is that they didn't have the permission to film on the underground (60.000$ budget!). One night a cop came by, looked at them, nodded and walked away, presumably because Woody Allen was shooting just a few meters away and they were mistaken for a second Allen crew.

love justin theroux. but bond couldnt wear thick rim glasses (or could he?) he certainly has the cheeky humour down. i would love to see a really smart bond film with no car chases and just a really smart mystery plot line but that would be taking bond in a new direction because bond was always dumb.

as soon as the bourne series did bond better than bond they had to change it up but they didnt

i think we all know the next bond will be black anyway. black president, black bond, female president, female bond etc
