It's funny, but I do look back at Children of Men somewhat fondly, even though I was perhaps its most loud-mouthed critic once upon a time. The few things it did so very well have outweighed the fact that it was mostly a lazy and plagiarized video game adaptation.

Namely, its editing, photography, and action sequence choreography.

I'm going to start another thread about some of the reasons I think CoM was ultimately very successful.

Total Recall (original) - 10/10 , i can't believe Paul Verhoven got away with doing a big budget art house scifi movie on Mars where the main character is portrayed as a sex object with ladies openly lusting for him at every turn.

"still bulging i see, what have you been feeding this thing?"

"blondes"

A+

um, yes that is so rare in movies? *scratches Quatto head*

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

it's taken a step further than say a Bond movie, i guess it's not rare its just refreshing to have it be so direct instead of the normal way its done in movies. but that's only scratching the surface of why Total recall is so goddam good.

I love and have loved the first, and only!, Total Recall forever now. So a friend bribed me into going to see:

Total Recall 2012

which is actually.

TOTAL FECAL

3.1/10 for Kate Beckinsale's ass.

My friend got in for free, so we didn't give them the full price of admission.

Haven't seen it yet, but the HUD and GUI designs look pretty IDMz

Little Children 9/10 great movie, love it

Alien vs predator 2 3/10 i don't know what is going on in this movie, the gore effects are pretty sweet but that's it. Reminded me that Predators was also shit and to never watch it again

Children of Men was probably the most nerve-racking film experience for me due to its perfectly executed action sequences. For once, action in a film was actually something that made me feel excited/tense/on edge (as opposed to my usual reaction, getting sleepy and losing interest once there's exploding cars and such). I think (besides the great choreography and photography) that is due to the fact that it focuses mostly on real dangers, like riots, people with guns... and the main characters always find themselves trapped in between some third parties' conflicts, there's always some extremist groups bashing into each other and you're mostly afraid of the main characters getting accidentally shot ... so you're afraid of the violence itself, which is much more realistic, and not just of the violence being executed by the antagonist as is the case with most traditional movie-setups.

It is from REC2

Is this from REC2?

Yes.

I felt asleep like 4 times during REC2.

I hated it. The first one was wonderful (as wonderful as a zombie flick gets), but the second one was terrible...

I saw it last night. So lame. The rubber doll on the rooftop was the only exciting thing in the film. Can't imagine how REC3 could possibly be worse.

and the third one... omfg... don't get me started on REC3.

uncovered Gattaca at my friends house a few days back. Remember my cousin had us watch it years back when I was much younger, so I decided to watch it again for nostalgic purposes. Allot more drama/lame romance then I remember, but I guess the moral of the story is you can do whatever you set your mind to, despite genetic inferiority as long as you're dedicated enough. Concept was intriguing though, I'd like to watch more straight-forward sci-fi films about gene modification and reproduction tech, minus the dramatization. I've already read Brave New World. that's was alright too

What's really Meh about it is how they added random screams to the aphex track as if it wasn't weird enough

the new age of film, where even if the movie is complete and utter shite it still has cool gadgets we all remember

Finally watched Blade Runner for the first time. Pretty meh. I'll probably have to give it another go, but so far, I don't see what all the fuzz is about. I liked the soundtrack though.

The GUI design is the only thing I remember from Minority Report (besides getting inevitable awkward Sam Morton boners)

i like the look of it on imdb.

restrepo - documentary following US platoon in korengal valley afganistan for a year... ok but i've seen more revealing and gritty documentaries on tv following the UK army... obviously a very dangerous place with loads of enemy contact but out of dozens of soldiers featured only 1 or 2 were likeable so what could have been a moving story didn't really touch me at all. i realise "nice guy" doesn't come high on the list of a soldier's required attributes but surely "compassion" should feature on there somewhere? even the guy the film and outpost are named after came across really badly.
