im always pissed off. and i once made diffrent music, but i still used keyboards and drum machines, just kind of swapped the guitar for a 303

Exactly what I was thinking. His attempt to break apart the analogy is very much flawed, because he is putting in his own assumptions. Yeah, uneffected being the key assumption to the argument, almost all electronic music makes use of effects on some level. Even primitive acid music. These assumptions are also what makes rock music boring and bad at times, because people use the same kinds of recording set ups all the time in rock music, as well as write derivitive songs and shit like that. So I think XXX's analogy still holds. Yes it is POSSIBLE for these types of set ups to be boring and repetitive and derivitive but so it is as well with traditional drum, guitar, bass setups.

Justs my thoughts on the matter.
