Yeh the running at you fast thing is quite creepy. Kinda like amnesia, especially as you are not supposed to look at them. Wonder if they spawn in caves?

At least they dont blow up.

I wanted this to be a mob you only saw in the distance and a mob you’d be afraid of, but when I playtested it, it mostly felt like a regular zombie. There’s was a distinct mismatch between looking creepy and not actually playing creepy. When I made it move faster towards the player when attacking, and deal more damage, it got more difficult and I started respecting it, but it never felt creepy or scary.

im guessing just a bit more than the zombies.

hm thats kind of silly cuz if you notice those things u can simply go the other way and not look at them ,or even go around them .. its up to you if they are ever hostile and im sure any player who isnt like 5 yrs old or retarded wont ever have to deal with them.

unless he thinks of a clever way to set up situations where if youre not super careful you will look at them, i think it would be cool if they put out torches in caves, so if one spawned in the darkness it would just go aroud very slowly and start putting torches out, and it would make a noise every time it did it so you would know that it was aroud. and youd have to confront the darkness and risk looking at its beady glowing eyes to get back out of your cave.

dark caves? small corridoors? you could get buttraped by one if you were mining and then broke through to a cave full of them

in caves i would go as far as to say they should spawn one and a time and be moderately rare, and the chance that they find your cave entrance and first torch from above ground would be like 1/10

it would be super annoying if it happened all the time of course but it could be implemented in a way that would work

cause otherwise theres not really anything scary going on. if you see them at a distance its like oh there goes those enderman moving blocks around for no reason. and if they were moving YOUR blocks around in your town you would have to deal with them right away lest your stuff gets destroyed, so it wouldnt be scary youd just attack and probably be annoyed.

I like this idea. But I'm pretty cool with the current idea for them. I hope they make an awful noise like the Ghasts when you look at them/when they start attacking you.

For fucks sake, is our world corrupted, or is someone grieving all of my land? Both of my flower gardens have big pits in the middle of them, and my gay club has much of the glass broken, causing floods.
