Can't believe some of you rate Hail to the Theif so low.

Don't get that either. Some of their strongest songs are on that album (Sail To The Moon, There There, A Punch Up At A Wedding, etc). Totally shit's on this one, if anything.

Album is nice, very nice.

I can hear plenty of In Rainbows in it. I loved In Rainbows so it depends on who likes that.

Hail to The Thief is still my favourite album though.

May get the big ass vinyl bundle fund-wise depending.

I consider Radiohead to be my favorite band, and I'm sad that I'm not too crazy about this album. The only track I truly enjoy is Bloom. The album sounds almost as safe as In Rainbows, which I didn't really vibe with either. It seems like they've stopped pushing boundaries and are just kickin' it. The production on it also sounds dry, and most of Thom Yorke's vocal melodies aren't taken very far. Not that he should over-sing, but some of them are kinda flat. Don't know what's goin on with them. It also seems like Jonny Greenwood didn't have much of a hand in this album.

Yeah, I repeat myself, but I can only suppress my disappointment if I listen to this as a Thom Yorke solo EP. I'm not sure they've really been a band for a while now. Maybe this is why we got so many conflicting answers on the status of the album from Ed O'Brien, Phil, etc.

dont get people saying this aint a band album, the rhythm section are on fire on this album! For me this album is the band properly learning how to incorporate the electronic influences into an organic band type sound and think it is a much more a progression in their sound than most people seem to think.

First few listens through, I think it's pretty good, and I'm not a radiohead fan. Some very nice moments. Tom Yorke's persona and singing are not my cup of tea, but there's no denying he and the band's compositional skills and musical chops.

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

mmmm... the rhythm section seems to be mostly loops. most of the instrumentation too. and to me they don't sound "individual" enough.

xcept for the basslines, those are all colin.

ZOMG! Lazerz pew pew pew!!!!11!!1!!!!1!oneone!shift+one!~!!!

I'm really excited about the drums work, especially on the 3 / 4 / 5 tracks. These are the songs that I noticed / instantly liked at the first listening, but like for all Radiohead albums, I suppose that it'll take a little time before I enjoy the whole thing.

Also I don't understand the disappointment that people generally seem to show about this album. To my ears it has its own original sound, which I think is the mark of the top Radiohead albums.

Maybe the criticism will calm down after a few more listens

The key thing about Radioheads music that cant be overstated is how it makes you feel. I'd hazard a guess that this is the reason some people dont think it's as good.

Anyway, i've heard this for the 2nd time now. My prediction: most radiohead fans hating on the album will eventually end up upgrading their rating to it's ok and most of the ones who think it's amazing will downgrade their rating to ok. My rating: pretty good

edit. bear in mind this is the first radiohead album that on first listen i didn't think was brilliant

Totally. In track 5, the kick drum that hits @ :59sec right after Thom starts singing is brilliant. I've always found Radiohead's percussion to be some of the best around. On this album a large majority of it seems to be live drumming layered on top of itself, as opposed to previous works where there was lots of programmed beats, 15 Steps being a good example.

"separator" turning into one of my all time favorite Radiohead songs. it's fantastic music.

this is a deep, deep album. mysterious, atmospheric.

there's a groove to it. and it goes into a strange place. i think it goes further than any other radiohead to date, except maybe "in limbo."

anyhow, it's not an immediate album. not all good music is, i do believe. in that sense it's different from any other Radiohead album [imo, and addressed at Rambo], but that also puts it in a positive/good/awesome league of its own.

In late. I love it. May not be as good as Kid A but I think it's fan-fuckin-tastic.

Your in a very positive mood Mr Reason! I haven't got round to giving it a go yet as that video of Tom prancing around sort of put a dampner on it and killed my enthusiasm.

After having a broadband blackout for about a month, I only found out about this last night. Have downloaded it and I'm listening now, sounds great.
