sweepstakes
Lowride would have been so much better if they would've given that bass pad more balls. Doesn't sound good on anything that doesn't have a decent sub. Blir
Lowride and Leterel are both gr8 i fink I don't like Glitch, Netlon Sentinel (I'll get grief for that one) and Krylon. Actually I hate Krylon. They're pretty much the only AE tunes I don't like. Boy it sure is fun hating on my favourite band! It takes some adjustment, but there's a truly beautiful atmosphere hiding in what, at first, sounds like improvised noodling. What do you think of Pule? Same hate? That's another track with a similarly subtle atmosphere. Personally, I think both are incredible. Though I guess I could see it being perceived as corny. It just sounds so massive! It's like a transformer made of dump trucks breakdancing. And the end with that weird whine and the awesome pads. Blir
Pule I used to dislike but really came around to it. I see the comparison though, I just haven't found anything I like apart from the initial ambient sounds before the song proper kicks in. Netlon Sentinel I don't even know. I like the sounds but I guess I don't like the structure. sweepstakes
I don't see any similarity between Pule and Krylon at all! I <3 Pule... always have. Pretty much the opposite with kryLon... I tried to give it a few chances and it just never clicked. joseph
Yeah I don't see the similarity with pule and krylon. pule is a highly rhythmic track where krylon is highly arrhythmic. I love pule, just like every other track on Chi Slide. But I would agree that atmosphere is a huge part of what makes Chiastic Slide so perfect. Guest Xenblake
surripere seems overrated. Especially in comparison with most of the other tracks on draft. Surripere is like this big but simple central axis amongst an otherwise more layered and complex set of tunes. though it follows the draft pattern of: simplistic start/complex ending, it seems relatively simplistic and limear in its progression. By the 8 minute mark I'm often just waiting for it to finish, something I rarely feel with autechre. modey
I've memorised most of Surripere, the pleasure I get from listening to it comes from knowing exactly when most of the key moments of the song are going to happen. eugene
when replying in that best to worst thread i realized that i've pretty much ignored this album for no particular reason after its release, i grabbed some vinyl rip with many bits and kbps in it and playing it now, while this doesn't sound much like an album rather than a comp, pretty much every track is special and engaging in some way, good stuff. eugene
the three ambient tracks on the ends of the album are some of the best stuff autechre have done, though without knowing it's autechre i'd have never guessed. Soloman Tump
Sometimes I get really frustrated listening to Quaristice. This is down to the tracks being really short, and knowing that there are alternative / longer versions available to listen too it gets me all fidgety and I want each segment to be able to breath properly. I find mixing up Versions and Quadrange to be a much more fulfilling listen, even if it does take about 3 hours Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Soloman Tump's signature Hide all signatures https://intrusivesignals.blogspot.com/ Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/64222-quaristice/page/8/#findComment-1791719 Share on other sites
