I love Quaristice but when I play it on most speakers I have to set the EQ to reduce the bass

there are definitely some muddy parts mix-wise.

this is the only release that i can say that about ae.

further enforces that this was a jam album without as much post production as other ae releases

I cant remember which track it is, but one of the ambient pieces on Versions really fucks with my car speakers.

Really love IO but that long mix of IO on youtube is way better than the orginal track.

That Steels track is weird.

i quite like steels! not as a standalone track so much but it's a great bridge for a lot of the repetition and rigidness in beaty tracks like tankakern/plcs/perlences/io

Autechre at their most playful since Gescom minidisc, i hope they get as playful as this album some time in the future

that whole sequence flows better than anything on Quaristice. It's goddamn bliss.

it's amazing to think that all of those sounds are coming out of a few drum machines and a synth. Autechre at their most disciplined? interesting dichotomy considering Quaristice is playful (i know bla bla repeating myself sorry)

currently having my mind blown by this album, all over again. Playing this very loud in a darkened room and having a glass of whisky after a bad day. Amazing.

Just tried this again after a long time on a new set of headphones and have to say I'm enjoying it a ton hearing bits I hadn't really noticed before. It's a very bass heavy album.

it snowed here on Saturday and I had quaristice blasting in all it's glory. ae and snow are great but the quaristice sessions and snow is perfection.

I always thought Oversteps was a really good snow album because of O=0, pt2ph8, and see on see.

I wouldn't disagree with that. It's def got a murky vibe to it.

mmm i've listened it maybe 6-7 times.. right now i'd say it's the first deception with them. but i like it. i feel its just an interesting compilation of ideas rather than an album, or maybe it's just less good.
