Oh my goodness... what a day!

The inlaws were moving today and I went along with my brother inlaw (which is a really cool cat) and his sister's husband to go help. We show up and my wifes father comes out acting kind of inept and packing stuff into his pick up truck. My brother in law asked "when are we getting the U-haul?"... my father in law then told us in spanish that he was planning to move using his pick up truck. We looked at we looked at eachother and nodded our heads disapprovingly and told him to save us the agony and rent a truck... He kept insisting that he didn't want to. the dude that's married to my wife's sister said "Fuck This!" and went to go get a U-haul. I went with him and he was complaining the whole time about the inlaws. I just kept agreeing with everything he was saying and added my little 2 cents to the conversation.

We show up with the U-Haul and the mother in law is upset because we went to get a U-haul truck against their wishes and she was arguing with my brother in law about us not listening and my brother in law was like "I'm not wasting my time and gas on making superfluous trips!" she then started swearing in spanish and got so upset that she started to cry... my brother in law looked at us and was like "My parents are so fucked up!" I said "MMM HMMM!" then started to help. but all the shit that they wanted us to move were like old junk that they don't want to let go of. they're going from a 4 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom condo (all the children married, or went off to college and moved out so they are downsizing). We start putting stuff into their new place and we're like WTF? they have 2 sectionals and only one living room now. We brought the fridge inside the condo and the condo already had a fridge that was better than theirs and my brother in law was like "Get rid of your fridge!" and my mil started getting all teary eyed again and I was like "I'm out guys... I don't think I can handle this anymore!"

I went back home and I told my wife "I'm never moving shit for them again!"

jesus! i had to move my former gmil out of her 4 bedroom house and into a shitty home (which she did willingly cause she likes to travel and living in a shitty home cost less that living where she was before and she planned on spending little time in the shitty home). point is she gave away like three quarters of her stuff to make moving more easy. chick was like 74 and she was trying to help us move her couches. she made the move so easy that i did it hungover, with 2 other helpers, in less than 4 hours. she also cooked me dinner, tried to give me money and got me drunk. Best move ever.

she even paid for the uhaul.

damn... that is a nice move! I did one like that about 15 years ago.

2 sectionals in a living room smaller than in their old house... and a big coffee table, one of those big ass china cabinets... I'm never gonna visit them that's for damn sure! not to mention 2 fridges now! It's like horders yo!

I am a large fellow so i generally get asked to help friends move. This one stuck out in my mind because it fucking wailed. plus she is super cool and i still love her.

I like helping people move. It makes me feel buff. Plus, it always blows my mind how much crap you can fit in a tiny U-Haul. My packing Tetris skills are quite sharp now.

had a bunch of in-laws in town this weekend. my mother in law shows up with a GI virus and spreads it around. now everyone is bed-ridden and peeing out of their own butts, except for my MIL, who has made a full recovery and is hitting the streets of denver applying for jobs. yep. applying for FULL TIME JOBS HERE.

they're all coming back for thanksgiving. to make things interesting i was going to go downtown and grab a homeless dude to feed for thanksgiving. does anyone here want to pose as a homeless dude and have dinner with me and my in-laws?

I don't have to pose, when i wake up i look homeless. i'm in.

i'll even get hammered on wine and scotch the night before so you get the full drunk bum aroma effect.
