What Video Games Are You Currently Playing

Late to the party, but have just started this this weekend (Nabbed it for 15 quid on Steam). Jeez .... the panic when driving to the exit teleports, like the feeling of not sure if you'll make it to the toilet in time x 1000

Played 'Mouthwashing' not so much a horror game but one of those artsy indie walking simulator things.

It's alright.

All this does not reveal much but the launch seems to be very much around the corner. They confirmed it will be released this fiscal year which ends march 31 next year.

Kind of how I felt about it too. Felt like it was trying to go for a specific type of experience. It didn't really do that much for me ultimately. I didn't hate it though.

I don't think it's quite as... elegant, or good as the case of the golden idol. But it's still really, really good. Same kind of weird foreboding and dread found in some of the scenarios, great vibes, not quite as nice as the original though. Some really nice innovations over the original, and it was fun to have different sorts of things to fill in on a case by case basis, not having to individually click every word meant the friction could be moved elsewhere. The way everything ties together at the end is really nice.. although I'm a bit confused by some details, feel like I have to go back through and review everything to fully make sense of the ending. I haven't played any of the DLC for the original, so I think I want to go back and do that.

received an invite to the path of exile 2 early access that started yesterday.  Played 3 of the new classes to around lvl10 last night.  It's definitely a poe successor in looks, atmosphere, music, and feel.  But the fighting mechanics are something different.  Things like wasd to control your characters movement while still using the mouse to direct your characters focal point.  Space bar is unlimited dodge, and casting while moving/animation canceling (these are huge positives for me).  It's a lot more souls like than I expected for arpg, but it feels very intuitive.  Also, everything feels a lot more intuitive than the original.  All the gems/socketing is done in one interface instead of each piece of gear having sockets (gear now has sockets for other things, I haven't unlocked the crafting station yet).  The passive tree also seems a lot more focused on directing new players toward a successful path.  

Looking forward to hopping in and trying the other 3 classes that are available (supposed to be 12 classes at launch).  

splurged on a PS5 Pro, catching up on some stuff from this gen.

started with Alan Wake 2, but was kind of expecting it to be… better?

the one I can’t put down is GT7. Actually got the VR2 headset just for it and feel it’s worth it. This is really intense. It’s also a lot.

Started RE4 in VR, very good. But it’s on hold due to RE 2 remake which is excellent.

edit: the whole 4K/upscaling/raytracing hamburger is so weird.

my Nintedno is there collecting dust, the joycons have glitched out years ago.. but when Metroid come out, how NOT to upgrade to this Switch 2, which might maybe run it at 1080p 30fps instead of 720p 12fps? And then that guy will collect dust. Dilemma.

Started to play WoW Classic and even tho I used to be obsessed with it when I was 16, at 30 I feel it is really, really, really boring and easy. I'm playing it with some friends tho, which make it better, but as a whole I do think it is more of a casual game.

got myself Vox Populi mod for Civ 5 because i heard it adds some depth and complexity, and they weren't kidding!

i've been playing on-off for a couple of months and i must say it's very hard, even on lower difficulties. tried going with King difficulty initially, but i was soon surpased by far. stubbornly trying Prince level now, with Raging barbarians. buildings, techs, units, policies, resources - everything is changed and my tried strats from vanilla civ5 are almost useless. today i finally was making good progress, but got completely overwhelmed by barbarian armies taking my friendly city-state in the south and attacking one of my cities in the north. then Harald Bluetooth declared war on me, because i was so weak, lol

it's hard to find time to master good games these days....
