This game is amazing. I buy all of draknek and friends games... awesome publisher.

Thank you, that's very kind of you! 🙂

Indiana Motherfucking Jones!

Just started playing this. It's actually a lot of fun. I love whipping shit. I feel like theres a lot of emphasis on stealth but I'm sloppy and just fistfight dudes all the time and smash them over the head with guitars and wine bottles.

I played through the Alan Wake 2 DLC's. Some interesting ideas, but definitely not essential. Alan Wake 2 itself is incredible though.

do you think Microsoft will make a steam deck console for their next Xbox?

steam-deck-in-white-on-blue-table.jpg

I haven't purchased one of the newer consoles, if Microsoft made something as powerful as the Series X but in Switch form, plus ability to plug it into monitor/tv keyboard mouse, I'd be interested especially in the next year or so as lots of cool looking games are coming out next year looks like

Been playing signalis and vampire survivors on a lovely new steam deck my wife got me for Xmas.

signalis is pretty cool, very atmospheric, though the progression /puzzles seemto be getting a bit samey

vampire survivors is dopamine releasing witchcraft

Finally finished S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, at just under 120 hours. Holy hell, what a game.

Granted it's still buggy and prone to crashes (especially at the initial shaders load-screen), but seeing what GSC Gameworld have achieved especially under life-threatening circumstances is nothing short of miraculous. Also RIP voice actor Oleksii Khilskyi, as well as former dev Volodymyr Yezhov, who did make the ultimate sacrifice in defending Ukraine these last three years - not to mention countless others who fell during the conflict, as listed in the endgame credits.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 didn't get GOTY this year, let alone get any nomination. But it will always be GOTY in my heart. Can't think of a better way to wrap up 2024. Eager to see what GSC have in store moving forward, especially with DLCs they've been hinting at.

(Also the Gauss Rifle slaps hard af. Not just in damage, but also in terms of audio & visual design, plus animation. Chef's kiss.)

To keep it real and analog, I'm gonna start posting to WATMM by writing my posts in fountain pen on hemp paper, putting them in bottles, and throwing them into the ocean.

I started the Silent Hill 2 remake. It's pretty slow so far. But I'm going to stick with it. I never played the original games except for the demo of the first Silent Hill back in the day.

I'm keen on this at some point but I didn't even manage to snap it up during the current sale before my wallet broke, so dunno when I'll get around to it.

Beyond Citadel

Basically Brutal Doom with waifus. The first Citadel back in 2020 was pretty good too, but feels like Doekuramori's work has matured more this time - the kind of work you'd never get from the AAA sector these days.

There were moments during my away holidays, when I wished I was at home playing stalker 2 instead. I was too curious and spoiled it a bit by watching yt walkthroughs. I really had to make sure they did it right, and they did I think. now I just need to get it and book another holiday lol

As far as the latest open-world games go, I can't recommend it enough. There's still one region in the game I didn't bother really exploring yet, plus loads of random special loot I haven't found.

And I'm not the first one to say it, but S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2's replay value would benefit tremendously from a NG+. I hope GSC implement it at some point.

Played the lake house alan wake II dlc, it's a cool short self contained story, and also serves as a good teaser for control 2. Gameplay is still remedy's typical meh, but the world building, lore and vibes are all good.

ZOMG! Lazerz pew pew pew!!!!11!!1!!!!1!oneone!shift+one!~!!!

I bought Disco Elysium several years and I'm finally playing it now. It's the perfect game to play in January in this year of our lord 2025 god help us all.

Arma Reforger

played it on PC some time ago when I had a work laptop. Now restarted on PS5 and cannot stop. Like the original Operation Flashpoint, this is a very special game.

Finished Silent Hill 2 remake. Didn't get the hype on this one. Combat is fairly simple, not nearly as scary as Resident Evil, and the story doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I guess Astro Bot is next.

Having been out of the loop for a while (last console was a PS3) I treated myself to a PS5 for Christmas and went straight for Silent Hill 2.

Sorry it didn't work for you but holy shit I reckon it's awesome. Just inching my way through the prison at the moment and goddamn it nails the dread. Playing it late at night with headphones and lights off is definitely the way to do it. Sound design and music is impeccable.

There it is! I really hope they don't release newer first party titles on the old Switch still, I really want to see them push the hardware to the limit.. Looks great though

have you played the original on PS2?

I just got the remake. But will wait playing until the graphics are patched up. Right now, on PS5 Pro, there’s highly noticeable weird artefacts from reflection processing.

It’s so strange, apparently if you’re a big game these days, you gotta have ray tracing, even if it looks worse than IBL & screen space reflections. There’s often this strange noisy temporal processing grain. Not sure what’s up with that, it’s a big regression in terms of how stuff looks overall imho.
