black swan 10/10

i had ZERO interest in watching this movie, ever since portman did star wars ive seethed at her name, ballet doesn't interest me in the slightest and swan lake could go fucking die for all i care. BUT this movie is incredible, ive seen it 4 times now and every single time i am glued to the fucking screen, it wraps you up in her mind, their world and you can do nothing but care and feel every moment as if you were there right behind her shoulder, i adore this movie so much right now.

this + kaen interview is

watched the film adaptation of The Road after reading the book for the first time. they changed up the order of things, which kind of stunted the emotional impact of a few scenes, and a lot of the realy long drawn out awful "we are starving to death" scenes got compressed into like a minute, which was annoying, but otherwise, it was pretty good. i think i cried through the whole thing, though. christ almighty. bleak doesn't begin to describe it.

Irreversible 8/10 - I didn't enjoy this movie one bit, it was completely fucked up.. especially the rape scene was horrible.. and when that guy took the extinguisher to the other guys face.. holy shit.

yet you gave it a what?

Even though I didn't enjoy it, I felt that it is way out there and completely different from other films I've seen. The guys got balls, hence the rating. It was well made. Just shocking.

I watched the new Danny Boyle movie (127 hours) in cinema, no dubs, no subs, nice seat, perfect conditions. And Danny didn't disappoint me, he never does. Although I wasn't that big on Slumdog Millionaire.

I don't like to give numerical scores but if I did, I'd give it an awesome.

Sex Drive - Delightfully silly, cosy American comedy in the style of American Pie

Blue Valentine - Think someone in here mentioned this. Good sober drama, didn't like the all too realistic sex scenes. Nice camerawork. Dragged on a bit towards the end. Goslings hairline made me feel a bit better about my own.

The Woodsman - Decent drama about a convicted peodophiles return to society after time in jail.

In Bruges - Thoroughly enjoyable crime caper, relaly liked it. Especially the dwarf and his attitude.

foods in the tone of 'go to the fuckin store'

patayda chips

apple cracker thangies

carrots in brown paper bag

kind of, it's worth it for chevy chase but most of it tends to be heavy handed message crap

i've been very surprised by the love NBC seems to be getting for their original programming ( 30 rock, parks and rec, community, SNL) for the past 4 years. really good comedians like Poehler, Louie Ck, Joel McHale deserve less watering down. Community seems to be the weaker of the 4 i just mentioned. I only saw the first 2 episodes though..

Social Network - 8/10, i really enjoyed it, thought the REznor score was superb. Jessie Eisenberg and the cast won me over. Not really much else to say but i was really resisted seeing this one, i was expecting to find it very unlikable.

Community seems a rushed attempt to capture 30 Rock's fast-paced witty style of humour. 7 episodes in and I don't care much for any of the characters

I don't like 30 Rock very much at all, cept for Tracy Morgan and Jack MacBrayer...

Community feels less forced and is more creative with its humor...

Chevy Chase being addicted to pain killers this season is comedic gold...

Joel McHale is a funny funny man...

Alison Brie is beautiful and funny as hell...

I wasn't sold on it til the Betty White episode and her being the NBC Golden Girl goddess she is, she melted my soul....and so has this show :emb:

yeah see the first half season is okay at best, about halfway through the first season they're like "fuck reality!" and now there's a show about a community college that has a zombie episode.

also what atop said. and troy and abed are the most adorable hetero life mates ever.

Yea, those aren't great arguments for the show, Betty White is crap and the show tries WAY too hard. Parks and Recreation is the only show on NBC worth watching. Mainly for Poehler and Louis Ck.
