Capturing the Friedmans - 8/10. Frustrating story.

yeah, frustrating indeed. i had problems with the film, but the story needed to be told. that home movie footage that they worked in of jesse (i think thats his name) and his father the night before they begin their prison terms was incredibly bizarre. that little stop motion video of the two meeting in the middle of the frame them going in opposite directions always stuck in my mind. deeply, deeply sad in an unintentional way. it seems the father was genuinely guilty but who knows with son...

The fact that they both plead guilty and the overwhelming number of people that came forward, coupled with the child porn they confiscated sways my belief that they were both guilty. Really bizarre story though, had this on in the background while a group of people were over playing cards and we ended up watching it instead.

This movie is even MORE frustrating.

Holy crap you're right. Watched it this afternoon, ridiculous what a police dept in a small town can get away with. This actually made a pretty good pairing with The Black Death, which I watched after it and kind of dealt with similar issues.

i just sat around and watched movies today. 'the proposition' - (still) 9/10 - i love this movie so much. john hurts brief role is a true highlight. the obvious relish he has in playing this repugnant character is a site to behold -

aeon flux: watching it on tv now, have seen it before. this film had so much possibility of greatness. but it's just a stupid hollywood movie. if they would have stayed a little close to the animated series... the style of the series...

bahhh

i'm not even going to rate it

The Troll Hunter - 9/10 - Beautiful landscape , interesting concept , highly entertaining.

I HOPE THIS MATCH NEVER ENDS - 245017.jpg

Aruitemo aruitemo (Still Walking) - 8/10: a very pleasant watch, portrait of one japanese family. recommended.
