ya i figured it out, i hope abandoned mines and stuff arent so plentiful in the real update. this thing seems to be filled with nothing but the new stuff.also custom biomes dont work ive noticed, and it might be a glitch but the spiders have all been white and glitchy looking .

why not build a portal in some untried direction and create a CV3? Voila, instant new map.

The problem may not come from the map, but from...within

the seams between the new and old terrain would be pretty nasty, from what i read.

you should get married to the map in your cathedral.

Really? I had seams between my original single player map and one of the updates. They looked exactly like you'd expect - cliffs and or dips along the border edge, with biomes ending abruptly etc. So yeah, a bit ugly, but nothing serious. Describe "nasty"...?

There's a map in my cathedral? (har har) I would completely understand getting bored if we were stuck to the spawn point and had no portals. But with beds and portals I don't feel that need as strongly. I just suspect people are getting bored with Minecraft the game, rather than our map specifically. I dunno, I realize it may only be me, but I like the notion of creating a city with archeological layers and all sorts of cool little areas. It's like someone in Rome waking up one morning and saying "i'm sick of the coliseum and all this other crap, let's tear it down and start over." Except that CV1 is a long way from being Rome. I just wish we did more co-op projects, the arena and aphex logos were done cooperatively right? We can still do that...I'd like more ambitious new projects, not necessarily new maps...in other words, to make best use of what we have, rather than poor use of just another map. And I guess it's obvious but I'm sure the same issues of "over development" and boredom will happen with a new map...

I think i'm gonna be further away from spawn this time. I liked going to everyone elses area and seeing what they were doing with their space. Would be awesome if we had a portal room in the nether to all our own private areas. Like jumping through the paintings in the mario 64 castle.

I haven't lost my hunger for minecraft at all, In fact I wish 1.9 introduces frequent meterorite showers so I get pissed off and stop playing forever.

there'll be half the number of abandoned mines, the same number of ravines, and three times as many strongholds, it seems.

Yea, my girlfriend uses that one. It looks good, but I never can remember which texture is what.

u guys can try mine im almost finished just adjusting the biome colors.. theyre causing me grief cause most of the game is swamp and pine forest. so those are the only two colors i am actually seeing. before there was emerald green like every where . this is what i mean by they need to tone it down on the new stuff. i also havent seen any snow period

new terrain generator is incredible imo.

there is no reason we can't do this, now that we have f3. In our current map I have portals from my cathedral basement that links up to your portal in CV1 and my basement on that island in CV1. It's very easy to create the linking portals as long as you pay attention to the f3 coords.

By the way, the abbey/monastery next to my cathedral is now done. Had some help from Franklin's bro (Spacewrekker). Here are some screens, before we bid goodbye to the map...

We're going to get a backup right? So we can always play it in single player? I don't want Lumpy's awesome buildings to disappear. I could use them in screenshots to try out my texture packs and shit.
